Bio

Louder Than Lunacy has a sound that is both heavy and melodic; their own breed of hard rock that is rooted in metal, but also heavily influenced by alternative and grunge. They mesh these elements into their own brand of rock and roll. Louder Than Lunacy's music is extremely dynamic, often consisting of heavy, progressive guitar riffs and pounding double-bass beats intertwined with powerful, melodic interludes and memorable lyrics. Their songs can be enjoyed by the lay toe-tapper yet appriciated technically for their odd-time signatures and complex patterns popularized by contempoary metal and proggresive music.
Louder Than Lunacy is Ben Grall (vocals and guitar), Andy Manns (drums), both from Leander, Texas, and Eric Putnam (bass), from Dallas. Ben and Andy have played together in various bands since the mid 90's, when the music of Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam inspired the two to form a band and learn how to create and perform music. Once they were introduced to the heavier, darker music of bands such as Metallica, Pantera, and Tool, they developed their style further.
November 2006: Louder than Lunacy came to be when Eric Putnam responded to an online add placed by Grall. Putnam had recently moved from Dallas down to Austin hoping to join a band. Soon the three began rehearsing and developing their sound. Louder Than Lunacy played thier first show on April 10, 2007 where they released their first self-titled independent album featuring 11 original tracks. In 2008, Louder than Lunacy hopes to begin playing surrounding Texas cities and states.
