"Jersey/Cali foursome @South_Banks @TheLouisKing defy genre on new rock/rap/etc. song "Superwoman""

These days genres and labels mean less than ever. For example, is South Bank‘s new song Superwoman a rock track featuring rap vocals, or a rap track featuring a rock instrumental. Who cares? All that really matters is that Banks are making their DJBooth debut with some quality music. Producer Adam Vaccarelli provides some of that aforementioned rock sound, giving the track a kinetic feel thanks to a driving guitar and drum line. And despite what the title might suggest, the Jersey and Cali dual representers tells the tale of a relationship that never quite gets the chance to take off. For more genre-defying music be sure to check out Banks’ Fit for A King EP, available across the interwebs as of May 26. - DJ Booth

Bio

Louis King Full Biography -
Louis King is a driven, young artist from West Los Angles, CA, USA, who used his foundation in the streets to spread his music around the world. LOUII can be described as a Musician, Spokesperson, and Hip-Hop Performing Artist among other things. King's music is a breath of fresh air combining powerful production with lyrical ammunition. Louis King has written and produced for pop, rock, soul, funk and hip-hop artists. One of the hardest working artists we've ever worked with in crafting, performing and spreading his passion. He's been under the West Coast Hip-Hop & Indie music Radar for some time now. Louis King belongs to the same hip hop circle as LA peers Kendrick Lamar,Dom Kennedy and Odd Future. LOUII created a strong buzz touring the US & overseas expressing his lyrical message.
South Banks is the alternative rock/hip-hop/fusion band lead by Louis King (Vocals/Drums/Keyboard - Los Angeles, Ca) , Chris “Meesh” Mitchell (Bass - Red Bank , NJ) , Vinny “Zeech” Zerbo (Drums - Red Bank, NJ) and Alex Hayes(Guitar - Red Bank, NJ). Each member is a talented musician and performer. It is not uncommon to see South Banks switch instruments during a concert to showcase their versatility. The unique style and universal sound of South Banks is attributed to the limitless genre which was been recreated through this band. South Banks has toured the college circuit with Louis King extensively on the east & west coast of the United States. Their single “Superwoman” rode the DJBooth Independent Music Charts for 8 weeks straight.
Louis King released "Swisher Sweet Swag" featuring IceAge Keys as a single under Generation West Music Group in January 2011. The single quickly spread through the streets and the world wide web eventually giving Swisher Sweet International an incentive to hire King as a traveling spokesperson; becoming one of the first songs to open up an international market for Louis King. The "Checkmate EP" successfully followed up in August 2011 when it reached 1.2 million viral downloads in just the first two months of release. King has since followed up with video after video for his quickly growing fan base. LK received national attention when Soulja Boy Tell Em released his version of "Swisher Sweet Swag" later in the year, plagiarizing the original chorus. LOUII instantly gained widespread viral support via blog, twitter and youtube. Most people are unaware but King is also a 5x Award-Winning Filmmaker and Division 1 NCAA National Football Champion.
In 2011, Louis King appeared on Soundtracks including 20th Century Fox's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", David Raynr's "Christmas in Compton" and Randy Jackson's "America's Best Dance Crew".
In early 2012, Louis King’s pattern of selling out west side venues earned him the title of headliner on the Generation West Pac 2012 Tour. Previously, King had been a featured performer on DJ Quik’s Book of David Tour. King returned to the east coast in April to record the South Banks Ep Fit for a King. Summer 2012 was a busy one full of concerts and festivals including international performances in Tel Aviv, Israel & Tokyo, Japan.
Louis is one of the most experienced performers in his age group. The 24-year-old cali native possesses the stage presence of a seasoned veteran. "The year I walked my first step was the year I had my first performance with my parents. I was playing the drums even before I said my first words, which were 'Gun GoDo'; the basic language of the Djembe percussion drum”, King recalls of his early years. King is a drummer, pianist, and a vocalist. His influences come from a balance of genres including the Beatles, Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur & Baba Olatunji (Louis's GodFather - Signed by John Hammond, Columbia Records - 1957). Louis began his music career performing and touring with his Father who came to North America on tour with the National Ensemble of Nigeria. LOUII's performance resume includes concerts at the Ford Amphitheater, House of Blues Sunset, Key Club Hollywood, The Stone Pony Asbury Park, Nokia Theatre at LA LIVE, The Children's Dream Awards and several other mentionable venues.
In 2013, Louis King was selected as a finalist for Power106 FM's WhosNew@2 for the single's "Peace" and "LOUII". Louis performed with Radio Host Yesi Ortiz & DJ Felli Fel at the Power106 WhosNext Concert. LK then traveled to Austin, Tx where he performed at South by SouthWest with several major artists including Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Problem & Snoop Dogg. Louis King's heartfelt single "Peace" aired again in the spring of 2013, this time on Steve Harvey's Morning show. Louis King is set for a big year in the works with "Ahead of My Time"(DP) preceding the "Running Late"(Album) released July 15, 2013. South Banks will deliver their follow-up to the Fit for a King EP in the Fall of 2013.
