Lou Jerome Band

Lou Jerome Band

Blues and Soul done the original way! I grew up on Blues and Soul Music and I have see most of the greats perform over the last 45 years. I feel what they feel!

This band was founded in 2001 in Philadelphia by Lou Jerome, Brian Mc Lean and Robbertto Ricards. Lou relocated to Maryland in 2002 and re-established the band here. Robbertto rejoined tha band in 2004 and continues as the music director. Lou was influenced by Muddy Waters, Johnny Adams and Albert King. His harmonica "heros" are Little Walter and James Cotton. Our story is simple: I grew up on the music and it is a National Treasure for our race. I want to keep it alive! What sets our band apart is that we cover tunes the original way, very little variations and none that are not a fit for the original music. From time to time we cross Blues and Gospel in the feel of the music, and it is very entertaining.

Even Now

Even Now I still love you
Sometimes I wonder how
But I'm wishing you only the best
Yes I guess we are even now.

Set List

We typically open with "All Blues" Green Onions, or "Chicken Shack" and Lou comes up on a big blues shuffle like Drink Muddy Water, then we flo into some Hoochie Choochie Man and Even New and some Elmore James style a little "funk" with Blues lyrics arranged by Lou and end the 50 minute set with something like "Kansas City Blues!" with the audience singling along!
