Bio

Name:

Lou Kang

AGE:

21

WHERE ARE YOU FROM:

I was born and raised in the city of St. Louis, Mo.

WHAT DO YOU DO:

I'm a different breed of recording artists. With a combination of enthusiastic energy, extraordinary sound, and profound lyricism I have the gift to entertain audiences of all ages and ethnic diversities. Versatility is another important characteristic I hold. The ability to smoothly transition from a hardcore hip-hop artist, to a phenomenal Pop and R&B feature, to an inspirational performer and songwriter, makes me far more than a hip-hop artist! It makes me very marketable on many levels.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PERFORMING:

I have always loved and practiced music since the age of 12 when I joined acting, piano and vocal music lessons at Carr Lane Visual Performing Arts school where I was a show favorite. At age 18 while attending Xavier University in New Orleans on both Basketball and Academic scholarships I became known for seriously rocking microphones without compare on the college campus as well as local events on Bourbon Street, and throughout Louisiana. In the year of 2008, I began to seriously pursue my dream of being a nationally recognized recording artist while in the city of New Orleans, La. I'm a hustler by nature, so I put in the footwork to reach any goal I set for myself.

WHERE HAVE YOU PERFORMED:

I've performed in numerous venues across the city of St. Louis for example The In Spot (opening for Chingy), The Ambassador (opening for Lyfe Jennings), Club Legit (as the Head liner) , The Imperial Palace (opening for Plies), Key West Lounge , and The Warehouse (opening for Short Dog). In New Orleans I've performed, The Frat House (opening for Lil Boosie), Peaches Records Store (autograph signing), The Sports Vue (New Orleans Saints party), Club Ampersands (opening for Hurricane Chris) and much more!

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES:

When it comes to hip-hop, I am greatly influenced by Tupac Shakur first and foremost for his ability to identify with a beat, then show different sides of his personality in relationship to that beat. Ice Cube, Scarface, Lil Boosie, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, and Bone Thugs N Harmony are also great influences, but my greatest influence is the lack of opportunity and national exposure for artists in my hometown. That drives me to hustle hard to become a mega star in the industry, then reach back to pull up as many talented but struggling artists as I can. Furthermore, I am striving to be remembered as the person who truly opened doors in the music industry for the Midwest, and throughout the world.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH:

I really anticipate working with Young Jeezy, Busta Rhymes, Beyonce, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Alicia Keys, Fabolous, Pusha T, Krazie Bone, Snoop Dog, Nikki Minaj, 50 Cent, Yo Gotti, Kanye West, DJ Drama, Eminem, Swizz Beatz, Lady Ga Ga, Mannie Fresh, Drumma Boy, Dr. Dre, Gucci Mane, and Jennifer Hudson. A profound part of that anticipation and life long dream would be to be featured on one of Tupac Shakur's still unreleased songs.
