Lou Siffer and the Howling Demons

Med tre hornprydda vargar i baksätet plöjer han fram genom en karg stenöken nedsållad av dödskallar och benknotor.
I musiken, som är en rock n’ roll-klingande metal, hörs både V8-motorerna och Lucifers (eller Lou Siffers) frenetiska rattande. Det är musik som är blytung utan att på något sätt vara frånstötande. Artister som Misfits, Roky Erickson och på hemmaplan Coffinshakers har uppnått både försäljningsframgångar och kultstatus genom att tona ned de hårda inslagen i sin metal och grottat ned sig i skräckfilmsreferenser och morbida historier. Varför genren inte är större är en gåta.
När debutalbumet släpps har Lou Siffer and the Howling Demons gjort två utsålda spelningar på Krom i Uppsala och det lär bli fler. Konceptet tilltalar en bred publik och det är musik som passar exceptionellt bra live, vilket fångas i livekänslan (även) på ”The Devil’s Ride”. Det enda som egentligen saknas är rent produktionsmässigt. Mer bas för att bomba med motorbullerkänslan även när skivan inte spelas i bilen.

This recently-formed act from central Sweden is about to debut with an album, but in the meantime they were so cool to send me their vinyl single, a smasher!
The two tracks here included show some of the best blends of raw, tough motherfucking-guy Rock, and the comparisons with bands such as Mustasch and Volbeat are correct in "The Mosher", of which there's also a cool clip available online here showing their love for fast gusgazzling US cars; as to the flipside, "Bitch De Luxe" is closer to Misfits or Danzig, showing the darker side of the Swedish quintet.
The first-choice recording, mixing and mastering adds additional value to the product, therefore you had better hurry up to get this vinyl before it goes sold-out and because it's destined to become a rarity in the years to come. Keep that goddamned foot down, man!
