Lou Terry

I picked up the guitar aged 9, and have been writing songs from 12. I'm now 17 and I'm still improving and learning more about songwriting all the time. The lyrics are a really important aspect to my songs, and every word is meant. The guitar reflects the moods and rhythms of the words, which sometimes compensates the expected pulse of the music. Some songwriters and musicians that I have learnt from and that have influenced me include Radiohead, Anna Calvi, Arctic Monkeys, Jeffrey Lewis and Bob Dylan, although I don't feel I'm derivative of any of them. I've played at many venues, from local pubs to free festivals to Exeter’s Cavern Club, and the audience is always captive.
