"The New York Post (NY Post) - Page Six Gossip - Robin Byrd & Lovari (2015)"

Robin Byrd is using interest from a recent run-in with a raccoon to incongruously launch a dance-music career.

Byrd, whom Page Six revealed was attacked by a raccoon on Fire Island and is being treated for rabies, will release a dance song with recording artist Lovari, “Touch Me.”

Lyrics subtly include, “You can touch me there/Explore me deep inside.”

Byrd’s rep quipped of the tune, “Perhaps the raccoon heard it?” — leaving us to ponder the unthinkable. - The New York Post

"Very Cool Tunes - Exclusive Interview - Lovari (2015)"

1) Lovari, it is great to finally get an interview with you. I see you have been busy the past few years with music and acting. What is currently going on in your career?

Thank you so much. My new remix album “I Wanna Be Loved” has just been released. In addition to remixes of my previously released singles, it also includes the new tracks “Touch Me” (feat. Robin Byrd) and “The Floor” (feat. David Eric). I also have been signed on for the season on “The Chris Kepford Show” on Funny Or Die. My character’s name is Benji, and he basically hits on all of the cops and detectives at the bar.

2) When it comes to performing music or acting in a movie do you use the same creative background for each or is it different?

I definitely have more creative control with music. I write my own songs and arrange the vocals, and can choose to sing in any tone that I feel goes well with it. In regard to acting, you have to embody the idea of what the script writer and director has for your character, although obviously your personality is going to come through in some form.

3) What was it like acting in a movie with Angelina Jolie?

I played one of her brothers in the movie “Salt”. Angie is a very humble, giving, introspective person. The biggest revelation that came to me while working on the set was about how much the media actually does stretch the truth and create fabrications. An example of this is that I got a call from Star Magazine while I was on set, asking me ridiculous questions in regard to an alleged affair that she was having and her “erratic” behavior on set. None of it was true. I emphatically let them know that not only were they absolutely wrong, but that their perception of her personality was so far removed from the truth. It was very upsetting to see a person like her that was hard working, on set the same amount of time as the rest of the cast and crew, at the craftee table like everybody else, taking photos with all of us, on the phone during her breaks with numerous organizations that she is involved with, spending time with her children who were very well mannered, and yet the press was busy writing ridiculous things about what was allegedly going on during filming. I was on that set for sixteen days – all of which we were in the same room, as she was our sister in the scenes. None of what the press saying that she did was true. That really opened my eyes about the manipulation of the media.

4) What gives you the greatest sense of pride in your career?

The idea that I never gave up on my dreams, and when I have opportunities like this to be interviewed, and to see my name in print.

5) Your music is fantastic, is there any special approach you take when recording a new song?

Thank you. I’m very grateful for that. In regard to the approach that I take, I always think of a personal theme of what I am going through or of a subject that is on my mind. I can never write or something about something that I haven’t been through or that I don’t believe in. For example, I can never sing or write a song about drugs, because I don’t do drugs.

6) What can fans expect in 2015 and beyond?

I will be on the Funny Or Die series “The Chris Kepford Show” as Benji, who is basically a horndog who hits on just about everybody. I also shot a music video for my song “Right Here” from my new remix album. I am going to continue to promote the music video “The Floor” (feat. David Eric), which is currently on MTV.com and my song “Touch Me” with Robin Byrd, which we have been performing at various events, such as the Get Out Awards in NYC. I am a spokesperson for Headstrong NY, microscalp pigmentation for hair, so I will be making appearances speaking about that as well. I’m very grateful to my LFamz for their support! - Very Cool Tunes

"Lovari on Billboard Musik (2017)"

Lovari revisits the sounds of the early 90s r&b/pop realm with his brand new album “The Rhythm Of Life”, scheduled for release in May 2017.The album contains 14 brand new songs, including a remake of Mariah Carey’s “Around You” (from her 1991 “Emotions” album).

The New York born & raised artist scored on the Top 100 Billboard Emerging Artists with his single “Te Siento” in 2016, and reached #1 on both the iTunes & Amazon R&B New Releases Chart with his 2013 single “Still In Love” (feat. Anny Jules).

The two lead singles from the forthcoming album – “Need To Know” and “Paparazzi” display different flavors, one smooth and laid back, the other upbeat and intense. - Billboard Musik

"Lovari Hits All The Right Notes On New Album - Top 40 Charts. Com (2017)"

"I have explored the facets of underlying passion of love. There seems to be a common thread. A rush of high and an abrupt end," sings Lovari on one of the many poetically detailed lyrics featured on his new album "The Rhythm Of Life". If fans and naysayers alike were betting on Lovari to exceed their expectations with his latest project, they can rest assure that he has.

One of the best albums of 2017, "The Rhythm Of Life" opens with the sassy late 80s/early 90s sounding track "Paparazzi", which name checks gossip blogger Perez Hilton, US TV show Good Day New York, and the infamous Page Six gossip column all in one lyrical bridge. (Fact check: Lovari has appeared in all of these outlets). Accompanying the "Paparazzi" track is an excellent storyline music video, which is reminiscent of Bruno Mars' visual pieces.

Standout tracks on this nearly excellent collection include "Give Me Back My Heart" (would've easily been a #1 hit in the early 90s midtempo balladry days - not sure about this millenium, but there's hope), "Love", "Need To Know", "Gon' Be Alright" and the lead single "Crush On You".

Although the majority of the album is a 90s inspired R&B/Pop sound, there are a few surprises thrown in. Lovari goes all out with 80s arena rock on "Should've Known" (featuring Shinobi Ninja lead singer Duke Simz)and embraces country on "Ride With Me" (which is the only misstep on the album - not with the beat, but rather with Lovari's somewhat forced vocal delivery). Gospel elements arise on "God Got Me" and an acapella performance of the album's title closes out the fourteen tracks.

Vocally wise, his falsetto transcends between Prince, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. Speaking of Miss Carey, there is a remake of her song "Around You" (from her 1991 "Emotions" album), featured near the end of the album. 90s house music enthusiasts will enjoy the throwback beat, although overall it is a bit too karaoke for me. Hats off to him for hitting those high notes though!
