"LOVE & THE ZEALOUS LIVE FROM THE WAREHOUSE"

Big space. Big Sound. This is Love & the Zealous’s warehouse debut… live from the Jam in the Van Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. - Jam In The Van

"LAMB PREMIERE: JAM IN THE VAN’S “HEAD PROJECT”"

Jam in the Van is an incredibly unique California-based project that began in 2011. It uses a solar-powered van to serve as a space for artists to perform and then travel to share their work for various audiences at festivals and gatherings all over the country. The goal is to discover and bring new music to everyone, everywhere, in its most organic form. Jam in the Van has grown a respectable fan-base, with thousands watching their videos on Youtube every week. From Gary Clark Jr. to Trampled By Turtles to Jenny O. (and 500 more!), there is never a shortage of feel good tunes for all types of groove.
This week, the Jam Van and its founders are debuting a new monthly venture: “Head Project.” This project brings several different artists into one larger space to collaborate on a song’s arrangement. The group, sometimes proving pretty ecclectic, then showcases their doings at venues nearby. In its first session, “Head Project” invited Love and the Zealous, Ivory Deville, and LAmb favorites Valley Queen to their DTLA headquarters to rearrange a classic: Joe Cocker’s “A Little Help From My Friends.”
And since we’re so lucky, we’ve got the very first clip of their session right here! Watch the awesome video premiere below, and then subscribe to their Youtube page to catch the rest. Happy Jamming! - LA Music Blog

"Love & the Zealous - "Dock of the Bay" (video) (premiere)"

Two years after releasing their very promising debut EP, Olney, Texas blues/rock/soul band Love & the Zealous are at work on a new follow-up. In the meantime, though, they made a stop at the solar-powered mobile recording studio Jam in the Van and proceeded to lay down a somber yet bruising cover of otis redding’s classic “Dock of the Bay”.

“We sing the song because I’ve always been an Otis Redding fan because my mother use to play his albums all the time,” says singer Richard Love. “We’d sit there and sing the songs together, so naturally it was one of the songs I wanted to cover.” - Pop Matters

"EXCLUSIVE: Let Love & The Zealous Wow You With Their Silky Psych Track"

From what I’ve gathered, Love & The Zealous must take some delight in defying expectations. Made up of core members Richard Love (vocals), Marcus Leemann (guitar) and Corbin Bailey (drums), the group of young guys from Olney, Texas are an unassuming, laid-back looking crew, at first glance more likely to be great party guests than great rockers. This false assumption on my part made it all the more delightful when Love hit the mic with his gentle, silky voice and the band joined him to create a truly unique synthesis of emotional blues melody and rock that verges on psychedelic.

Today, Elmore is bringing you “Happy When I’m

Gone,” a track recorded live at Jam In The Van’s San Francisco Artist House during this year’s Outside Lands festival. Jam In The Van is a traveling (and colorful) music studio operated on solar power that will cover over 10,000 miles of road this year alone, and has held performances by Gary Clark, Jr., George Clinton and hundreds more.

Check out “Happy When I’m Gone” below. You’ll no doubt be hearing more of Love & The Zealous, so you’d better get on the van now. - Elmore Magazine

"LOVE AND THE ZEALOUS PART DEUX"

When we started Jam in the Van we had this vision of a music discovery vehicle that could go anywhere in search of amazing music and make high quality recordings of that music to be shared with the world. As such, our growing relationship with Love and the Zealous is one of our proudest moments to date. When you hit play on this session and hear the power and soul behind Richard Love’s voice you will get a better understanding of why we are so glad that we found these guys during our SXSW 2015 contest. They’re from literally the middle of nowhere-bumb-fugh-Texas, and they don’t get out of there too often. In fact, Richard’s first time seeing the ocean came only a few weeks prior to this session being released, when he and the band traveled on their first ever tour of the West Coast, it was a Jam in the Van Presents Tour. Even though they didn’t win our contest (placed fourth in the online voting finals round) we decided we wanted to help these dudes get out of their Texas bubble and spread the Love all over the world. The voice we heard in these jams was just too good to keep hidden. So we’re here to put it up in lights, because that’s what we do, it’s what we dreamed of, what we set out to achieve, and here we are with what might in the purest sense of the word be our first true music “discovery” and we are oh so damn ready to champion it to the world! Give it a listen, maybe two, and please, let us know if you fall in love… - Jam In The Van

"CUZ’S CORNER EPISODE 92- LOVE & THE ZEALOUS"

Over the hills and through the woods to San Francisco they go! We were lucky to have Love and the Zealous stop by Lennon Rehearsal Studios in the midst of their manic tour to perform at our showcase, jam in the new van, and get Cuz’s Corner back on the corner where it’s supposed to be! Find out what’s happening with these soulful fellas, Spud take it away! - Jam In The Van

Bio

Love and the Zealous sprouted from the boredom of two young guys, Richard Love and Marcus Leemann, two misfits going nowhere in a small Texas town. A friendship formed: hours they spent whiling away the time singing and strumming the guitar. Their musical roots evolved from the artists their parents enjoyed:  Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Etta James, Sam Cooke, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, to name a few.

Soon ink began to hit paper and lyrics emerged. Two old souls, good-hearted free spirits raised under the wide-open Texas skies leaned upon their unique perspectives borne of hardships and heartaches and emerged with a compelling sound all their own. Their passion, dedication and perseverance have led them to where they are today; a band on the road to being recognized and seeing their name in lights. Share the Love, let the light shine.
