Love and War

Having been described as Ben Harper meets the Clash, the infamous folk/punk project Love and War provide a stormy and impressive live show. The four piece combine "rootsy" instrumentation with straight hard beats and an intriguing presence. The band forged itself together in January 07 and has not looked back after a sold out EP launch - and if the sky falls - and has played many gigs including headlining a music festival. Having the perfect EP under their belt, Love and War is due for stardom. This is an act not to miss.
Lyall Moloney, guitarist and lead singer, has been gigging in the coastal/roots scenes on the East Coast of Australia for the past two years, playing roots-driven original tunes. Lyall is half way through a bachelor of Music at Wesley Institute and has sung in choirs for years, one of which recently toured Europe and won the Suma Cum Laude International Choral Competition. Drawing inspiration form the likes of Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones and The Clash, Lyall forged his sound with two indie/rock musicians; Mark Stockton (bass) - met through choir - and Josh Piltz (drums) whom is an accomplished Sydney musician. After only a hand full of shows Love and War had grown such a fan base that they decided to head to the studio, hence - Love and War's first release 'and if the sky falls'. Love and War had been gigging since January 07 when in December 07 Pete Avard (percussion) joined the final line up. Love and War are building a large fan base among audiences and musicians alike as they are a unique spur within the Sydney rock scene.
Love and War gig very regularly around Sydney and are now playing many headline shows, touring the east coast, even headlining medium sized music festivals.
As a result of Love and War's success the band now have their sights on music domination. Love and War are currently preparing for a national tour before heading back to the studio to record the first commercial album and a radio release/single with internationally acclaimed producer Justin Grounds.
