Lovechild, an Oakland-based duo featuring Felili and Trailer Limon, is like that sweet syrupy music that you heard dripping out of your daddy’s car stereo. Drawing inspiration from warm soul, R&B, 80’s radio jams, bossa-nova and heaps of other sexy shit, the two are throwing subtle future touches in with some classic songwriting. The result is a unique aural dish.
Both musicians smoothly swap mics, guitar, bass, and keys over tasty electronic beats, produced by Trailer Limon, also a member of boogie funk duo The Pendletons. Together these two are poised to bring some of that old school new school goodness, making you press rewind on that 85 JVC boombox.
