Bio

loveGravy has been slow-cooking their sound for almost five years, throwing in elements of American-roots music, funk, reggae, bluegrass, and organic fusion rock. From melodic jazz instrumentals to four-part a cappella crooning, their songs are as eclectic as their four personalities. While only in their early twenties, loveGravy has already gathered a sizable following through an intense effort of what is approaching two-hundred gigs from Vermont to Delaware and everywhere in between.
loveGravy started out as a party band at Bucknell University but soon developed a serious musical camaraderie. They won four straight Bucknell campus battle of the bands competitions and became regulars at the local music venues. They band was also invited to play at numerous schools on the east coast including UVM, Union College, and Williams College. Since 2004, loveGravy has been a very involved in the Philadelphia music scene. They have made their presence known at such venues as The Grape Street Pub, The Abilene, The Attic, Brownie's, Club 218, and have opened for national acts such as the legendary Ziggy Marley and Grammy award-winning Robert Randolph. The band has also been hard at work on its first studio album. This album shows loveGravy's unique balance between virtuosity and soul. Select tracks have recently been featured on University of Pennsylvania affiliated 88.5 WXPN’s Philly local pick of the day and on their weekly program “Jamnation.”
