What do you get when you combine youth, sass and fun to R&B music, the pop/urban group Love Jones Girlz. The term “Love Jones” is from the 1970‟s slang term that means a deep love for something. These girls have a Love Jones for performing and now want to share their Love Jones with you. The power trio of Claire Jones (17), Noni Storm Chinn (16), Taylor Nirvana Jones (16) has endured a tough rock n‟ roll story over the past four years. A process that started off as six members, then five, then four, now finally the trinity, these young ladies have persevered the school of hard knocks. Now with laser like focus have an image, sound and direction they can call their own. The group has just released two new singles, the up-tempo power anthem “Cover Girl” for urban leaning pop stations and the high energy EDM single “Higher” for the pop leaning dance stations. Both singles are beginning to bubble at radio.

 Recently the trio has been compared to a young version of TLC and Destiny’s Child rolled into one. Yet Love Jones Girlz is determined to carve out their own music niche and direction. In 2010 Love Jones Girlz won the Faces in the Crowd Showcase in New York, a showcase that has become a springboard for artists on the rise including rappers Maino and Wiz Khalifa and Grammy winner Chrisette Michelle. Other standout performances for the group include Megaton 2012 at Citifield in New York, Black Family Reunion on The National Mall in Washington, DC, NY Liberty at Prudential Center, SOB‟s in New York, NY Knicks National Anthem at Madison Square Garden, BET‟s 106 & Park, Los Angeles, CA based “The School Tour” and recently the 2013 ING – New York City Marathon, DigiTour and Arthur Ashe Kids Day at the U.S. Open. The group has also been featured in Bop, Tiger Beat and Twist Magazines. Love Jones Girlz is doing some spot dates opening for popular urban boy band Mindless Behavior.

 “Rumors” the debut single addresses the timely topic of cyber bullying. Rock Davis & Jay Rodriguez of Itchy House Films (Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, John Legend) directed the "Rumors" music video shot in Harlem.

 Taylor, Claire and Noni pride themselves on being multi-dimensional triple treats with the ability to sing, dance and act. Claire also brings the added dimension of rapping to her arsenal and aspires to be as good as Lauryn Hill some day with the ability to sing and rap. The group sites as their main influences other girls groups such as Destiny’s Child and TLC but also The Emotions, The Supremes and EnVogue. Some of their vocal influences include Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Adele, Jazmine Sullivan and of course Beyoncé.

 Each member was pursuing the arts individually before coming together as a group. Claire and Taylor where part of the award winning New York based theatrical youth Ensemble Tada! They also share the common bond of being students at The Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in New York, where Claire is a dance major studying at The Alvin Ailey School and Taylor is a theater major. Notable PPAS alumni include award winning recording artists, Britney Spears; Grammy award winner, Alicia Keys; actress, Claire Danes; and actor Connor Paolo (Gossip Girl) among many others. Noni Storm was actively pursuing a career in modeling and singing when a talent scout with an internationally recognized fashion house recommended her for the group.

 Current plans for the group include a spring/summer promo and radio tour to promote the new singles “Cover Girl” and “Higher”. Love Jones Girlz is also doing spot dates opening for Mindless Behavior.
