The Internet Song

Met my best friend, Tara, at Louie's bar and grill
our favorite hot spot to relax and chill.
She downed a triple shot, then cool as can be
said , good ole' Jimmy's been cheating on me.

Yea, little by little, he stopped coming to bed
staying up all night, and surfing the web.
So i set up some spyware, when he wasn't home
found out he's a Cyberhunting, Skirtchasing Gigalo.

Chorus
There was no perfume, or red lipstick
just a little 'ole mouse that went click, click, click
No hang up calls or sneakin in at dawn
he was making his moves at Fantasy.com!

So, I printed every page, of his paper affairs
hung them one by one, out front, by the stairs.
Threw his suits and his clothes, on the muddy lawn
left a poster size note saying, "Baby You're Gone!"

Well, he calls me up, just a beggin to explain,
said all that internet stuff, hey, it was just fun and games.

I told Mr. Don Juan Jimmy, of the CyberSleaze world
to enjoy his Webchattin Hunnies and Virtual Girls..
Said I'll pray for you, that you die a slow death
and that I'm nearby, as you gasp your last breath,
I told him how I cherish the thought, of him rotting in hell
then I said, but I'm not bitter baby, , and I wished him well.

Chorus x2
There was no perfume, or red lipstick
just a little 'ole mouse that went click, click, click
no hang up calls, or sneakin in at dawn
he was making his moves at Fantasy.com!

Caught in a riptide

Written By: linda mcgrath

Caught in a riptide

I'm not tryin to block the world out, or to push it away
I wish I knew, how to get beyond, feelin' this way.
I've always been strong and steady, but this is tuffer than me
I feel like crying all the time, I can't eat and I don't sleep.

Time's running out, they're calling , from the other side
and I'm scared and unprepared, to have to say goodbye.
I know you want to show me, just, how much you care
but there's nothing you can do, to help me outa here.

death is a part of life, that I understand
and there's no exception in direction
of our Master's plan,
still, here I am...

Chorus
Caught in the claws of a riptide. that won't let go
taken under by a force, that I can't control.
There's a lump in my throat and I'm fightin for air
drowning in the currents of emotion, fear and despair.
I know, in time, they'll be an answer to all of my prayers
and I'll be given what I need to swim outa here.

I've never had to know, what it feels like, to stand tall and let go
I've never had my strength on the line, right down to my soul.
I never understood how those, left behind, must feel
but now I know, a heart with a break, can shatter for real.

I see a world, full of survivors, that have learned to move on
they suffered and they grieved, then found a way to be strong.
'n I know that, those who love me, want to help me get through
but this hanging on and letting go, is something I must do..

death is a part of life, that I understand
and there's no exception in direction
of our Master's plan,

still, here I am...

Caught in the claws of a riptide. that won't let go
taken under by a force, that I can't control.
There's a lump in my throat and I'm fightin for air
drowning in the currents of emotions, fear and despair.
I know, in time, they'll be an answer to all of my prayers
and I'll be given what I need to swim outa here.

bring our soldiers home

Written By: linda mcgrath

BRING THEM HOME..... BRING OUR SOLDIERS HOME

The fighting in the streets
morals, and lack of, collide and meet,
blood shed on the ground
and within the soldier's hearts...
when will it end... why did it start?

Boy to man with the trigger's pull
death of youth, jaded heart's debut..
all innocence. shredded beyond repair
what the hell are they doing there?

CHORUS
Take our soldiers from this zone
bring them back to their home...
leave their arms on ground at rest
give them arms of happiness..
A parent, a lover, a very best friend
arms are waiting to love them again...
to heal as best as an onlooker can..
to guide them to who they were
before the hell began..
to let them know, they were never alone
please, bring our soldiers home.

All smiles vanished, hiding despair
beneath a uniform that allows no fear.
A shot to the right. movement on left
so hard to breathe that very next breath...
never knowing if it will be the last
another casualty, another blast..
looking down...checking for blood
can't feel anymore, no pain.. no love.

fighting enemies and thoughts of home,
fighting feeling so goddamn alone..
one man, among men combined
All men, one heart , intertwined..

the leader or the follower
the hero with the stripes,
comman thread of immortality
poised to take a life...
prepared to die on foreign ground..
no loved ones around..
unbearable hollowness with witness to
the lack of humanity in Fallujah...
what has it come to?

CHORUS
Take our soldiers from this zone
bring them back to their home...
leave their arms on ground at rest
give them arms of happiness..
A parent, a lover, a very best friend
arms are waiting to love them again...
to heal as best as an onlooker can..
to guide them to who they were
before the hell began..
to let them know, they were never alone
please, bring our soldiers home.

thank you for trying

Thank you for trying

He was at her side, by morning light
said i didn't get to sleep, at all last night.
I tossed and turned in our big, old bed
going over all the things, you had said.

the list of instructions, to help me day to day
the tapes for the girls, dated when to play.
there was just so much, we had to talk through
that i never got a chance, to say this to you

chorus
Baby, thank you for trying
when others would have said thats it,
you held strong and wouldn't quit
one more day, just one more round
weak on your feet, but not knocked down.
and when the ring of life, closed in that night
by all accounts, you'd won that fight
as the crowd, the lights and your heart grew dim
you were ready and at peace to go to Him.
Baby, thank you for trying

now, when i feel, i can't face, another day
i lean on every word, that you didn't say
your courage, love,your strength within
gets me back on track, to livin' again

He placed a dozen roses, on her headstone
said, there's one more thing, that i want you to know,
I'll be doing my best ,so, that when I come join you
You'll have every reason, to say this too

Baby, thank you for trying
when others would have said thats it
you held strong and wouldn't quit.
one more day, just one more round
weak on your feet, but not knocked down,
and when the ring of life closed in that night
by all accounts, you'd won that fight
as the crowd, the lights and your heart grew dim
you were ready and at peace to go to Him
Baby, thank you for trying.
