"Anti-Drug Day"

Ten year old Cheyenne Jackson-White sings with the Church of Scientology's "Kids on Stage for a Better World", which performed in support of the United Nations' International Day Against Drug Abuse on June 24 at Compton's Scared Heart Church. Through song and the distribution of thousands of booketlets, "The Truth About Drugs," the young artists educate those kids and parents in attendance about the damaging effects of drug use. "A Ten Year Old from Crenshaw District Takes on the World With Song"

Triple-threat, Cheyenne JAcksoWhite, sings, dances and acts, but also threatens the world as we see it now. She wants to help kids by keeping them off drugs, out of the depths of apathy and teaching them to have a postive attitude. This month, this ten year old is performing at the 15th anniversity celebration of the group she has been with for three years, in a show entitled For Kids Only. It's a variety show, using song and dance, highlighted with video vignettes, all about the more positive side of life. This group, the Kids on Stage for a Better World, a Church of Scientology program, has done over 1000 shows throughout thr LA area in those 15 years Cheyenne has been in at least 50 ofthem,
What is a Triple-threat? Well, formally, in the "business" that means a great singer, dancer and actor. But, this groupis taking it further. They have their sites set on changing the world.
"Whatever the mind can conceive, you can achieve, we have been taught.", Jackson-White explains. "If you keep a positive thoughts, then something good can happen to you. I love to sing and dance, it's so much fun! I hope that the kids we perform for are inspired to perform themselves. It is so important to stay safe and off the streets and out of trouble."
The Kids on Stage for a Better World was started in 1992 by Jean Dale, "L. Ron Hubbart said, 'Save the child and you save the nation.' and that is our motto. We want to show the kids we perform for that we can build as better world, that itb is possible, that there is hope."

Cheyenne says that "Sometimes it's a little stressful but I have help and support of my family, friends and fans. I also have the support of a lot of people in the music industry and ?I really appreciate all the adivce they've given me. My mom has helped me every step of the way. She's not only my mom, she's my manager. She always reminds me that my education is just as important as my career in the entertainment business."
