Bio

Love and Mason briefly met in San Diego in October of 2004 at a film festival after-party. Mason remembers seeing -- but not speaking to -- a woman alone on a patio, beer bottle and cigarette in hand.

Later that night, Mason heard an invisible woman’s karaoke rendition of “Me & Bobby McGee” emanating from another room...“Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose." The voice immediately grabbed Mason’s ear, and she whimsically said to a friend that she should start a band with that woman as lead singer...

In May of the following year, the same friend was organizing an open mic event and asked Mason to collaborate with a vocalist -- Love. Eventually, Mason realized that Love was the invisible woman singing Kris Kristofferson/Janis Joplin's song that night.

Love and Mason were a natural songwriting/performing duo and they quickly gained momentum. Appropriately, their influences overlapped in the singer-songwriter/classic rock genre. By October of 2005, they had recorded their first quality demo and played a couple shows. But family obligations were increasingly occupying Love's attention, and Mason felt a pull north.

4 years later, Mason was a solo singer-songwriter performing with a rock band in the San Francisco Bay Area. When the band was scheduled to record a live performance, Mason asked Love, who had returned from living in Japan, to fly in and sing backup vocals. Mason also asked Love to sing lead on a song she had written called “Love Always”, which required more vocal range and power than she herself had. The show was a success, but not too long after, the band disintegrated.

LoveMason on the other hand was just getting started. In summer of 2010, both were living in San Diego again. The collaboration was as natural as before, and this time, they intended to keep their music flowing.
