Loveseat

Loveseat stands apart as an all-star rhythm section with a sound of its own. The trio began making waves in the Colorado music scene in the summer of 2005. After a brief hiatus, the band has now moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where they are poised to bring their unique brand of jazz/funk/rock to venues in the Bay Area and beyond. Taking cues from other prominent keyboard trios like Medeski, Martin & Wood, The Bad Plus and Soulive, Loveseat exploits its classic trio format allowing each member of the band an equal voice. Combining tight, funky arrangements with group improvisation, the trio’s music is highly danceable and true to the musicians’ roots in jazz, funk and rock. The group’s growing fan base enjoys their originals as well as their deep repertoire of covers ranging from The Beatles to the Grateful Dead to Soundgarden. These covers take original forms in Loveseat’s hands and reflect the group’s distinctive voice while paying homage to their influences.
