This music makes my clothing want to come off. Its practically that simple. Strippers, bartenders, and Camero-owners alike will surely all rejoice at the newest installment of what I like to call man-driven, sex rock- a sound that many believe was left behind with metallic hair bands, spandex dresses, and feathered locks has been resurrected with a vengeance. LOVE WEAPONs debut recordings have done nothing less than promised the revival of rock to its Motley Crue-esque peak.

The chemistry and talent between these five musicians is hard to miss. Lead singer, Jae Sims (formerly of RUBIKON), guitarist Craig White and bassist Jeff Grossman (both formerly of CRUMBLE), guitarist Michael Fitzy Fitzmaurice (of DRINKFIST), and drummer Josh Barbarotta (formerly of CADE) come together to form a Boston-area local music super-group and fit together tighter than (insert derogatory reference here). Kicking off the three song demo is the unmistakable pop of an opening beer can, segueing immediately into the gorilla-like drum beats, incendiary bass, and shredding guitars of Please Me. This musical assault is interlaced with Sims raspy, bedroom vocals wailing out I know you need me/ you got me on my knees/ wont you please me/ pretty baby. In a stark contrast, the second track, Face on Fire, begins with a short, slow funk intro, and immediately cuts into what I consider to be the best stripper song of the three. The relaxed pace of the drums, coupled with the sultry bass, and the wailing guitars all underscore the belting vocals, setting up an incredible stage for the lap dance of your life.

Rather than ending this musical rendezvous with a cigarette tune, the boys hop onto the motorcycle of songs, Destroy Her and surprise the listener with lyrical substance, Forgive me while I hate you/ And hate me while I forgive you/ I need you baby/ Please leave me alone. Meanwhile the riffs stay powerful, the drumming consistent and commanding, and the vocals reeling you in, and your clothes off. Needless to say, the biggest and most painful demise of this demo is the fact that its a mere three songs. There is no question that this Boston-based five-some have tons to offer.
