Floating ever so lightly on static clouds, Denmark's newest band Lowly hops into the pop scene with their debut "Daydreamers" that's light as snow, but as powerful as a wrecking ball. They start their track off with some fuzzy synths that elevate you into the clouds above and allow for more fullness each time their classic 80s vocals fill the sky with the brightness of the sun. Leading into its the songs power section, the drums kick in allowing your imagination reach its fullest potential. This Danish five-piece band has been around the block in the music industry with each member have already worked on their own individual projects in music, but something felt right among them to come together and start what we believe is pure excellence among pop music. Lowly will be hitting up SPOT Festival in May and perhaps if we all daydream a little bit more they will be hitting up the U.S. sometime soon to grace us with their unstoppable sound. - Oblivious Pop
The fact that this is the Danish group’s first official track together as a quintet shouldn’t really affect how great we think it is, but somehow it just does. Perhaps because it’s just so perfectly formed. Tinkering electronics introduce the unassuming dream-pop number before that incredibly anthemic straight-for-the-chorus hook kicks in and you’re immediately transported to this idyllic, height of summer sonic landscape. They had been eyeing each other for a while, the five members of the new Danish noise-pop band, Lowly, before they finally joined forces. Each of the members had had their individual projects, released music themselves and had respective success through genres such as electronica, rock, hiphop, folk and jazz (yes, a genre for each member).
"We all respected and admired each others music a lot before actually playing together, maybe there was a fear of ruining something already great, but when we finally did it, it turned out that we could make something together we couldnt have done alone. And relying on that weve created music totally new to us all
The clash of the different genres isnt outspoken as a fusion of jazz and rock and electronica could be, they draw their sounds from heroes such as Tame Impala and Talking Heads with the intuitive vibe in mind:
"We've created the five songs on the EP with the energy from our rehearsals, not from a lot of postproduction. We want to be able to feel the inspiration and curiosity on the record. And we really hope, that comes across."
The band consist of two lead singers mostly singing in unison adding to the chorusy psych vibe, Nanna Schannong and Soffie Viemose also playing respectively guitar and laptop. Kasper Staub on synthesizers, Thomas Lund on bass and Moog and Steffen Lundtoft on drums and percussion.
In April they released their first track 'Daydreamers' on soundcloud and youtube, and its blissful soundwaves have already gotten attention from The Guardian and blogs such as The 405 and The Line of Best Fit.
