Bio

The foundation for Phocused Records LLC was first laid back in 2004 and was officially incorporated in February 2010. The founding members of the company are: Shaamar “S.” Gandy, John “Johnny Rock” Durnell, and Mark “Doe Boy” Stillis. All three men hail from Chester, Pennsylvania which is 10 minutes outside of Center City Philadelphia. Their surrounding environments have played a major role in their music and influenced many of their songs.
All of the founding members of Phocused Records are solo artists, who are always working on their own projects. However, when they come together to collaborate they are known as the “Loyalty Boys”. Their first major collaboration project is titled “The Reign”, which has beats produced by Jahlil Beats. Phocused Records has a long history with Jahlil Beats. Founding member, Shaamar “S.” Gandy, is not only a close friend but also his business partner. Jahlil Beats has produced for major artist such as Lil Wayne, P.Diddy, Chris Brown, Fabolous & Soulja Boy. The hit single off The Reign "How it feel to be the man" produced by Jahlil Beats recieved airplay on 98.9fm & 100.3fm in which the Loyalty Boys were interviewed live on each station.
Phocused Records for the past years has thrown numerous events promoting & marketing themselves. Gaining sponsorship from organizations such as Casey Custom Sneakers, Elite Auto Tune, East Coast Trans & Future Captain Sports. With the strong business model that they have created over the past years, Phocused Records is ready to make a significant impact in the music industry.
In the Fall of 2010 the Loyalty Boys teamed up with College Mansion & Bud Light on 12 events searching for the hottest 52 women in the tri-state area. The Loyalty Boys single "So Many Girls" became the theme song for the events with performances in the top hot spots in philadelphia and suburban areas. This also helped the Loyalty Boys recieve airplay on Wired 96.5.
The question the members of Phocused Records continually ask themselves is “What can we do for Hip Hop?” Phocused Records continually makes music for the “Love” of it not the “Lust” and that’s what separates them from the pack. With over 250 + people coming out to there shows from all types of demographics shows the versatility of the music the “Loyalty Boys” create.
Phocused Records has many future endeavors that will expand their business from not only just making music but every aspect of the entertainment world. Some labels limit themselves to one type of market; Phocused Records enjoys collaborating with variety of entertainers and companies to build a stronger foundation. They say the bamboo tree takes over 5 years to build its foundation just to sprout a tiny shoot out. But once its sprouts, it grows 3 feet every day until it reaches 90 feet. Phocused Records feels they have a strong comparison to the bamboo tree. Planting the seed years ago, finally sprouting and showing growth thru patience, persistent and faith.
