LR Rockets

LR Rockets

BandAlternativeRock

An altogether rather joyous racket, capturing perfectly the spirit of beer and sweat-soaked flailing on scummy dancefloor as rentless basslines collide with yelps and fast-paced riffs on electro strop-pop nuggets - Camilla Pia (NME top 5 Albums of the week)

Biography

LR Rockets began when two friends by chance reunited after 8 years of not being able to contact one another. Bumping into each other at a Futureheads gig in The Astoria LP asked LeBomb to come and play bass in a band he was just starting up. LeBomb agreed but turned up with an electric guitar instead and the band instantly gelled.
They began as a bassless 3-piece but soon realised they needed a bass to drive the sound forward, finding Judge on a website for desperate bassists, desperately in need of an amazing band LR Rockets were soon 4. Judge played his first gig at White Heat after just two rehearsals.
Not long after, the original drummer had to leave the band and again by chance we found Face who was meant to be playing in his old band with us at The Dublin Castle, his had band pulled out, we met him and the following week he was an LR Rocket, playing his first gig in support of XX Teens (then Xerox Teens) at On The Rocks just a fortnight later.
3 successful single releases on indie labels and a self released EP further down the line and LR Rockets finalised their line up with the recruitment of Andy Simmonds on Synth who debuted in support of O'Children at The Social in January 09.
LR Rockets have had airplay on Lamacq on BBC radio 1, BBC6 with Phill Jupitus, XFM with John Kennedy, playlisted on Pure FM, band of the week on Motor FM Germany, and enjoyed firther radio play in Spain and France.
Having toured Germany twice, played Dublin, Austria, Scotland, Wales, Jersey and Camden Crawl amongst other top gigs they are now off to Madrid in May to headline over Dead Pixels.
LR Rockets are ready to explode into the music scene this year, with a double A-side called Lovesucker/Cameron Is Connected out on March 9th and A 12" Picture Disc out on April 20th. They have full PR Campaigns in place for both forthcoming releases and are due to work with Gavin Watson (Art Director on This Is England) for their next photo shoot which will culminate in a gig / exhibition of his work to tie in with the April release.
Having just secured a booking agent, this band who is up until now self managed are on the hunt for their debut album deal which they are eager to release this year.

Lyrics

Renee Loves Losers

Written By: LR Rockets

VERSE 1
Staring out of cars, staring out of cars, staring out of cars is so much so much better
Sorting out your dreams, sorting sorting dreams, sorting our your dreams is so much so much better

CHORUS
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you

VERSE 2
Sirens and sirens and sirens are blaring, where my cars keys, at the bar please ?
Please take me home, which is anywhere, anywhere you want
Haven't got the money for a taxi, haven't got the money, haven't got the money
This is my life! can't follow you, can't honour you

CHORUS
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you

REFRAIN
Lonely rural hungry hearts, playing out thei lonely parts
you're lonely...so lonely
Eager isolated hearts, dreaming of a fleeting chance
you're lonely...so lonely...if only...if only

CHORUS
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you
Renee loves losers...I'm only losing to be with you

ENDING
You're screaming at me leaving now
As if I had meant to cross you
I'm not scheming I have to hit the road, a-don't say it
You wish never met me
You're screaming at me leaving now
As if I had meant to cross you
I'm not scheming I have to hit the road, a-don't say it
You wish never met me-o

Lovesucker

Written By: LR Rockets

VERSE 1
This will never be a love song
since i learnt to lie, i learnt to lie so well
I'm the product of a loveless marriage
romance is dead it's fucked out of it's head

You might like me you just met me tonight
we dance like fools I copied your moves
I just moved away from home
I got a double bed and a bottle of red.

do you remember the time
you came to mine
and we partied all night

CHORUS
Wild as I seem I've been all alone reading books in my bedsit
without you I'm hopeless
i need you, I need you
I've been let down by all modern music it doesn't peak to me
I need you, I need you, I need you, I need you now

VERSE 2
Coupling up on the night bus
we're holding hands and telling a joke or two
got our bottles on the high street
from an illegal offy that everybody goes to

don't wake the neighbours but make a playlist on my iTunes
we'll lie about on the bed
and when conversation runs dry we'll turn out the light

do you remember the time
you left-a-mine
it was quarter to...

CHORUS
Wild as I seem I've been all alone reading books in my bedsit
without you I'm hopeless
i need you, I need you
I've been let down by all modern music it doesn't peak to me
I need you, I need you, I need you, I need you now
