"Dance It Away EP - NME top 5 albums of the week"

Lyrical simplicity aside this lot make an altogether rather joyous racket, capturing perfectly the spirit of beer and sweat-soaked flailing on scummy dancefloor as rentless basslines collide with yelps and fast-paced riffs on electro strop-pop nuggets.
7 out of 10
Camilla Pia (NME) - NME

"Dance It Away EP - Artrocker review"

The LR rockets have been causing a stir around Shoreditch with their firebrand upstart punk rock. The latest single will keep that fan base happy by flagging up tales of the unordinary and the heartaches of love, then turning aggressive and going straight for your main arteries. A driving, boiling bassline, ascending angular guitar picks and a catchy, poppy choral hook, the Rockets seem to excel at taking bland and overused themes and turning them into something exciting. How? By recording all the instruments so loudly it’s like a personal, individual attack on your face.
Joe Gamp - Artrocker Magazine - Artrocker

"Dance It Away - Daily Mirror review"

The indie disco route taken at 100m sprint pace, with the drummer knocking seven shades of shinalo our of the drumkit, the guitarist on some mad high spiral and the singer urging a dancefloor mash-up. - Daily Mirror

"Dance It Away - The Fly review"

With a flurry of guitars and a face-wobbling dollop of bass, we’re plunged into this glam-punk stomp. Dance? Our legs fell off.
JJ Dunning (THE FLY) - The Fly

Bio

LR Rockets began when two friends by chance reunited after 8 years of not being able to contact one another. Bumping into each other at a Futureheads gig in The Astoria LP asked LeBomb to come and play bass in a band he was just starting up. LeBomb agreed but turned up with an electric guitar instead and the band instantly gelled.
They began as a bassless 3-piece but soon realised they needed a bass to drive the sound forward, finding Judge on a website for desperate bassists, desperately in need of an amazing band LR Rockets were soon 4. Judge played his first gig at White Heat after just two rehearsals.
Not long after, the original drummer had to leave the band and again by chance we found Face who was meant to be playing in his old band with us at The Dublin Castle, his had band pulled out, we met him and the following week he was an LR Rocket, playing his first gig in support of XX Teens (then Xerox Teens) at On The Rocks just a fortnight later.
3 successful single releases on indie labels and a self released EP further down the line and LR Rockets finalised their line up with the recruitment of Andy Simmonds on Synth who debuted in support of O'Children at The Social in January 09.
LR Rockets have had airplay on Lamacq on BBC radio 1, BBC6 with Phill Jupitus, XFM with John Kennedy, playlisted on Pure FM, band of the week on Motor FM Germany, and enjoyed firther radio play in Spain and France.
Having toured Germany twice, played Dublin, Austria, Scotland, Wales, Jersey and Camden Crawl amongst other top gigs they are now off to Madrid in May to headline over Dead Pixels.
LR Rockets are ready to explode into the music scene this year, with a double A-side called Lovesucker/Cameron Is Connected out on March 9th and A 12" Picture Disc out on April 20th. They have full PR Campaigns in place for both forthcoming releases and are due to work with Gavin Watson (Art Director on This Is England) for their next photo shoot which will culminate in a gig / exhibition of his work to tie in with the April release.
Having just secured a booking agent, this band who is up until now self managed are on the hunt for their debut album deal which they are eager to release this year.
