EP- The Platinum Sessions

L-SKI formed in NYC in the summer of 2007. Ben DeFusco, Chad Flaherty, and Jake Wolfgang, moved from their small town of South Kingstown, RI to form L-SKI in the big city. The band became complete when DeFusco's former college roommate Steve Purcell joined the band. Both DeFusco and Purcell were percussion majors at Ohio State, while Wolfgang and Flaherty were also music majors at their respected university's.

This high level of musicianship has taken L-SKI to many high points in their career. They have become a staple of the west village, rocking shows at all the clubs on Bleecker street. Most memorable was last years sold out New Years Eve Party at the legendary Bitter End, a club the band plays regularly.

L-SKI also holds their home state of RI in high regard, and is constantly traveling up the east coast to play shows in the Ocean State. Recently they could be heard rocking Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, the Ocean Mist and the Wheelhouse.

But it's L-SKI's sound that people can't get enough of. Their distinguishable 70's rock sound has set them apart from others. The Band is guitar driven, with DeFusco's fusion of many styles. Hues of Steve Howe, and Jimmy Page resonate in the music of L-SKI. This is coupled with the driving high octane rhythm section of Flaherty (Bass) and Purcell (drums). Both technically proficient and downright funky, they lay the foundation of L-SKI's melodic styling. The Band also prides itself on its masterful vocal work. Both DeFusco, and Wolfgang share the lead mic, and are often times harmonizing, making their sound truly unique.

L-SKI is a musical chameleon, and have been categorized as such. People have made references to Steely Dan, Led Zepplelin, and Yes. They can fit into many genres including rock, funk, and the jam scene. They have a strong " following, and L-SKI fans love to see the band time and time again.

Recently DeFusco has been on tour playing guitar with international superstar Wyclef Jean, and the experience has been helping L-SKI gain momentum and popularity. At a recent Rhode Island show the band brought in over 300 people, forcing the fire marshal to stop admittance.

Their EP "The Platinum Sessions" can be found on itunes, and expect an LP out by summer 2010.
