Bio

Gypsy Muse is recording a 12-song CD to be released in 2008. Please meet our members:

Lana Sutton, songwriting, lead vocals, guitar:
Lana writes unapologetically honest autobiographical blues, rock and folk songs. She is influenced by her experience as a print, broadcast and online journalist, and from her days in Atlanta grunge bands in the '90s. A Chattanooga-based freelance writer, art teacher and yoga instructor, her day jobs have been primarily in the news departments of TV and radio stations, newspapers and magazines.

Art Rahn, sound engineer, rhythm guitar, singer songwriter:
Art is an acoustic gypsy and technical prodigy, who avidly enjoys his freedom from single-track careers. The former Georgia Tech electrical, aerospace and mechanical research engineer and commercial airline pilot has written a "Rockets & Robots" curriculum that he teaches to gifted children in the summer. He is producing and engineering Muse's first CD, which will be available on MySpace in 2008.

Sometimes we have guest musicians, that include:
Robert Grier, bassist, keyboardist:
Grier played his first paying gig at the Rambo Restaurant in Milford, IL, in 1967 at the tender age of 13. His pursuit of the bottom end of the syncopated groove led him to Indiana University, where in 1976 he graduated with concentration in Anthropology/Ethnomusicology and Jazz Studies. He has settled in Southeast Tennessee and found a home playing bass and keyboards with several notable bands/projects in the Chattanooga area.

Jon Colston, lead guitar:
Colston is president of Chattanooga's Music Instruction Studio, has recorded tracks for international recording artists and has seen the fun side of the South in touring bands. He has performed in Canada, and is teaching tomorrow's future musicians how to rock.

Sean Cloud, percussion:
Cloud taught himself to play drums more than 35 years ago in fifth grade. Within a year, the southern Californian had his first drum set and taught himself to play along with his favorite records. By 1979, after touring with several bands, playing the club scene and being a recording musician, he was teaching others to play drums. Sean moved to Chattanooga from Louisiana in 1991 and has played with many local bands. You can also find him behind the drums during the contemporary services at church.
