LSTREETZ

Laqueise Pettigrew (born March 4th, 1988), better known as Lstreetz, is a Hip Hop recording artist from Chicago. Lstreetz was born in Upstate, New York and moved to Chicago at age 8, which she became interested in becoming a rapper at age 11. She says “I had fallen in love with rapping when I attended a Chicago Public School. They would always have battles and ciphers before school started. I would get involve and I would be the only female rapping and killing older guys as if I was doing it for years."
In November 2009 she released her first mix tape Nightmare on Lstreet hosted by Power 92.3 Dj Nehpets. The mixtape sold over 900 units throughout the streets of Chicago, and had guest appearances by Gunna(Unladylike),Yung Berg, King thehood Savior, and many more. The first single off the mix tape called “ON A HUNNIT” caused a mass hysteria throughout the city and begin to play everywhere including radio stations. For a young female rapper that is unsigned to have created a quick buzz without a label backing was unheard of in Chicago. “ON A HUNNIT” was produced by Zothebeatboi, who has created music for other artist such as Jody Breeze, Cap One, Kid Ink, Yung Berg, Gorilla Zoe and many others. Zothebeatboi is the main producer that is behind Lstreetz. The two have a great chemistry and so much passion that is shows through the music. A lot of people even make jokes and call the dynamic duo “The New Millennium Da Brat and JD.”
In May 2010 Lstreetz released her follow up song called “Mothership” produced by 3D to the djs and local radio stations. Power 92.3 loved the song so much that they added it to their online request list. Again, Lstreetz would gain more fans and buzz throughout the city. She continued to grind and perform during the summer to get more attention. By June Lstreetz got back into the studio to focus on working on her new mixtape Nightmare on Lstreet Vol. 2 hosted by Dj Anton and Y.dot.g.dot. The mixtape dropped on Halloween on limelinx and had got over 1,000 downloads in one day! Featuring guest appearances by Mush Millions, Voe Holla, and Gunna(Unladylike).
In November 2010 Lstreetz released her new single “GREATNESS” to the djs in which a lot of them have been spinning the record. On December 1st Lstreetz went on to shoot her first music video for the single featuring many cameos including SIDNEY STARR. With many accomplishments in a short period of time for a female artist who is UNSIGNED says a lot! Lstreetz is focused and very determined to be the next female rapper to shoot out of Chicago since Shawnna.
