Bio
My name is Lu Fuki. I’m the bandleader for Divine Providence based out of Detroit, MI . As a jazz collective, Divine Providence combines elements of classical, rock, and world music giving us a unique sound sure to attract audiences. We are a seven-piece band: guitars, bass, drums, keys, sax, congas, and lastly vocals with a female lead singer. And all our pieces are originals.
We’ve collaborated with many local Detroit artists including Mike Monford (Les Nubian, Mos Def), Mahogany Jones, and BigO Muziq and have played in multiple venues throughout Detroit and Chicago such as the DIA (Detroit), Jazz Cafe (Detroit) , PJ Lager's House (Detroit) The Blind Pig (Ann Arbor), WhateverFest (Detroit) The CRIM (Flint), Mosaic's Unity Conference (Dearborn), Trumpocene Conference (University of Michigan), Taking it to the Streets (Chicago), The Arab American National Museum, The Belt, The Bottomline Coffee House, and the Dessert Oasis. We have also been recorded for the River Anthology project. We are confident we can put on a good show and can attract a great audience and we would be happy to perform at your events
