Bio

Certain things in life are just meant to be. For Luanne Carl, singing, songwriting, and performing is what she was meant to do. Luanne's love of music goes back as long as she can remember. Her family says that she was singing before she could talk. Born and raised in Viking, Alberta,Canada, Luanne was raised in a home full of the love of music. Her mom and dad could often be found sitting around playing and singing, and a family band full of an accordion, pump organ, guitars and pots and pans was a common scene in her childhood. Her passion for music is unlike many. She pours her heart and soul into every song, word, note, and performance. Luanne is also a talented musician, playing bass guitar, guitar, piano, and drums.
Luanne started performing at the tender age of 8 years old, when she first performed in a local talent show in her home town of Viking, Alberta. This started many, many years of performing. Luanne was to join numerous bands in her time. Started out with an all girls band back in the eighties, and then joined a country/rock band in 1987, Bandana. Traveling around Eastern Alberta they played every wedding dance, rodeo and curling bonspiel around. She went on to start a two piece band with her husband Russ, while they were raising their young daughters.

The past six years have had Luanne singing and playing bass guitar for the band Domino, in Central Alberta. A five piece Rockin Country band with five lead vocalists. This band is extremely busy playing rodeos, casinos, festivals, corporate functions, and they have added the world famous Calgary Stampede, Window on the West Stage to their list of accomplishments, and are returning again this year. Luanne is a very important part of this band, and her energy and enthusiasm is evident every time she plays. She has strong vocals, and has been inspired by Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Gordon Lightfoot, Martina McBride, Patricia Conroy, K.D. Lang, Patsy Cline and Elvis - to name just a few.

She started writing twenty years ago, but her confidence in her writing has grown in the past six or seven years, as she has penned most of her songs in that time.

Luanne has opened up shows, along with her band Domino ~ for George Canyon, Jason McCoy, Jessie Farrell, One More Girl, Hey Romeo, and Julian Austin. Has performed our National Anthem at many hockey games, including the Red Deer Rebels at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer, and the Canadian and United States National Anthem for the Canada/US Olympic Women’s Hockey Game in Stettler, Alberta.

Luanne is extremely passionate about her singing and songwriting, and continues to pen many songs that are very close to her and her life. She is ready for the big STAGE – more ready than she’s ever been!! She is ready to fulfill the dream of singing and writing, as a way of life. She is Goin For It!
