Luar Na Lubre

Luar Na Lubre is the most prominent Celtic music band in Spain.

Their last eight albums were recorded under the Warner music Lavel and they sold more than 500.000 copies only in Spain.

In the middle 90ties, Mike Oldfield gave them the International success, recording one of their songs “O son do ar” in his album “Voyager. This collaboration continued during a fabulous Mike Oldfield + Luar Na Lubre Spanish tour in more than 10 cities. In the final tour press conference , Mike Oldfield said “Luar Na Lubre is the world greatest celtic band”

Luar Na Lubre’s international projection is growing up, with tours in a lot of countries: France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, UK, San Marino, Italy, Check Republic, USA, Canada, Venezuela, Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay, Palestina, Portugal, etc… They have been performing in some of the most important world music festivals in the world, with artist like, The Cors, Bob Geldof, Waterboys, etc..

In the 2002 they present their album Espiral produced by Donald Lunny.

The Spanish music Academy distinguish them during the last years with numerous awards:

During the 2004 were presented their album “Hai un Paraiso”, and a documental film about the Luar Na Lubre’s career “un Bosque the musica” filmed by the Galician director Ignacio Vilar. The film and album premier was in the New York Lincoln Center.

In November 2005, was presented their work, “SAUDADE”

“SAUDADE” is a musical travel around South America, around the galician emigration

In this album they rescue Federico Garcia Lorca poems wrote in Buenos Aires, tambourine songs dedicated to the Che Gevara from Venezuela, songs composed by Galician writers in the exile, and moreover songs that Luar Na Lubre composed during their American tours…

In October 2007, they presented their last album “Camiños da fin da terra” a return to the Galician culture roots a return to the Luar Na Lubre’s origins.

In 2009 they initiate another adventure. New disc and new tour from March.
The last work "Ao vivo", to the sale on March 24, gathers 18 songs that interpreted on January 22 and 23 in the Theatre Colon of A Coruña with two abundances up to the flag. All his classic songs ("Tu gitana", "O son do ar", "Chove en Santiago " ...), an unpublished song ("Axeitame polainiña ") and three friends with very special collaborations like Luz Casal("Camariñas"), Diana Navarro (" Romeiro ao lonxe ") and Pedro Guerra ("Memoria da noite"). In addition, "Ao vivo" gathers a documentary, a DVD with the complete concert and a very special bonus track with Ismael Serrano singing together with LUAR NA LUBRE "El derecho de vivir en paz" in solidarity with the people of Gaza.
