Bio

Luba, the shortened Russian name of Liubov, meaning “love”, was born in a small town amongst the Ural Mountains in South East Russia. Luba started to display an amazing talent and interest in music at such a young age her parents started her in vocal classes at the age of a mere four years old. Only a year later she began to sing on stage and perform in concerts for children. This was only the beginning of her adventure to take music to a serious level.

At 14, Luba was accepted into Kurgan Music College, a very prestigious school which was quite an accomplishment to be admitted at such a young age. Throughout her four years of music college, Luba spent countless hours practicing and performing vocals, piano, and dance. Her education did not stop here and upon graduation she proceeded to further her studies at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts where she continued her vocal lessons and majored as a “Director of Show Programs”. Even while studying full time, Luba had achieved numerous accomplishments during her schooling, including winning Moscow’s premier local Pop Music contest “Art-Arena”, performing at various high profile nightclubs, live concert performances, and winning numerous vocal competitions.

In summer of 2008, Luba made a decision to venture to the U.S. for a cultural experience in hopes it would expand her musical horizon. It was at this place and time Luba met her future, and now Husband, Steve, a business entrepreneur who helped and encouraged her musical abilities.

With the continuing assistance of her husband she has been able to overcome many of her initial language barriers and has successfully written and recorded several tracks, some of which are in collaboration with other American artists.

Luba is not only a singer, but an exceptional pianist, dancer, songwriter, and ultimately an amazing artist. Her music is largely influenced by her original Russian folk music roots, and she likes to think of her music as unique to the industry and describes it as “Pop mixed with a European flavor”. Luba and Steve continue to work on their upcoming project, “From the Shadows”, which is scheduled to be released late 2009.
