"The highlight of our fundraiser"

What a delightful mix of Brazilian Bossa Nova and Samba as well as Latin American Bolero! The rhythmic music and gentle vocals of Luciano Antonio were a highlight of this year's dinner fundraiser.
"High energy, beautiful and amazing!" These are the words that were used to describe the performance of Passistas Samba Dance Group. They not only demonstrated tremendous grace and skill, but were wonderful at involving the attendees of our family event. At one point in the evening just about everyone, young and old, was on the dance floor learning samba dance steps! - David Crump, Executive Director - San Jose Obrero Mission

"A huge hit"

Luciano Antonio and his trio was hired by Macy's to perform at the Latin-themed Flower Show event. They were such a hit they where asked to perform again at an evening event with many VIPs. The group is entertaining, festive, and fun. In addition, they are very professional and talented.
I highly recommend them! - Erin Harnisch, Sr. Specialist Events - Macy's

"Delightful"

On behalf of the entire membership of the CDS, I would like to express our gratitude to you and your ensemble for a delightful evening with Brazilian music. Some just listened, some danced, but clearly everyone enjoyed your music. Congratulations Luciano, you guys are the best!! - Joan Guitart, M.D. - Chicago Dermatological Society

"The Best of Brazil in Chicago"

I met Luciano several years ago at a club called rhythm and was impressed by his musicianship and more importantly the way he related to the crowd. So, when my wife and I were planning our wedding and making decisions about the entertainment, there was only one choice in my mind and that was the Brazilian Jazz Guy.
He invited me to his home so that we could talk about song choices and arrangements for our ceremony. With his guitar at hand, he played many arrangements of tunes from his repetoire and I could tell straight away that this would be a special night. Luciano even arranged a piece for me to serenade my wife.
Every song at our wedding was beautifully played from Pachelbel's Canon to Aquarela do Brasil. For our first dance, Luciano and the band played an arrangement of Milonga Triste that was almost other worldly. My wife Gail and I could have danced for hours. Luciano kept things going with the bossa and samba rhythms for the entire night. Thanks by the way for playing Mas que nada and Blue Bossa. Thanks for treating me and Gail like old friends.
If you are looking for a musician to play for any event, look no further.
Luciano is the best!!! - Prentiss & Gail Rhodes Wedding

"A way of making your guitar sing"

As a big fan of your bossa nova and samba band for many years now, we finally had our chance to incorporate a piece of brazil with an important event in our lives. We wanted an intimate wedding ceremony with only our closest family and friends and you helped us achieve this... what's more romantic than a man with a guitar? You've brought your years of experience into the overall process, in helping us select music, coming up with your own ideas as well in helping us to create a very personalized and touching ceremony. The music I walked down the aisle to, made me cry, and those who witnessed as well.

You have a way of making your guitar sing ~ and we're very happy you were a part of our day. - Eric Lee Wedding

A force in the Brazilian Music Scene...
Luciano transcends all borders and time through his soulful renditions of some of Brazil's greatest compositions and his own original works and collaborations. Co-founder of Planeta Azul and founder of the Luciano Antonio Trio.
Luciano was born into a musical family in rural Iretama, Parana, Brazil’s southern region. From this melodiously rich environment, he learned first how to sing with his mom, Luiza Maria. By age 14, he took the violão (acoustic guitar) as a self taught instrument, focusing his repertoire on Brazilian Folk and Bossa Nova (Brazilian Jazz) and continued his pursuit through the study of classical guitar at the age of 17. Luciano’s music journey next led him to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) where he received a bachelor’s degree in music performance. After successfully completing his education at UMKC, he relocated to Chicago where he has since established himself as a popular Brazilian Jazz Artist, having recently performed at the Jakarta International Jazz Festival and completed a mini-tour of Japan. Luciano collaborates with many great fellow artists and through his own project, continues to invigorate the Chicago Latin and Jazz scene. Make no mistake; Luciano has placed his stamp on the Brazilian music scene in Chicago. Other recent engagements include opening performances for Caetano Veloso, Vinicius C antuaria, Virginia Rodrigues, performances for the Chicago Mayor’s Office of Special Events, The Democratic Convention of 2004, the Taste of Chicago, Chicago Summerdance and several commercial releases. Luciano also plays classical guitar for weddings, social events and private functions.
