Lucid Spruce

Lucid Spruce is a New York City based psychedelic/shoegaze/indie rock band formed in 2005. The members of the band are: Stephan Cherkashin (vocal, guitar), Sara Tabler (bass), Ilya Palitayev (lead guitar) and Kiyomi Kubo (drums). In the two years they have been playing together, they have earned the respect and attention of New York City music lovers.

The band's sound is a compelling combination of transcendental vocals, psychedelic guitar hooks and a driving rhythm section. These elements combine to create an overall effect that brings to mind old school psychedelic rock and early 90’s shoegaze. Their shows are marked by the heavy use of Wah-Wah pedals and spacey guitar effects anchored by catchy tunes and heartfelt lyrics. The charismatic live performance of frontman Stephan Cherkashin is backed by Kiyomi Kubo’s powerful and creative beats, Ilya and Sara’s complex yet concentrated style provides an atmospheric background to the band’s stage presence.

Lucid Spruce frequently play at New York City venues such as Lit Lounge, Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, Club Midway and more. Based on the strength of their live performances and online portfolio, the band continues to build an international following which includes many fans from Europe and Japan. Currently, the band is independently recording their debut full length and polishing their live act in New York City venues.
