Bio
Lucinda Matthews is a songwriter based in Melbourne. She is accompanied on her gigs and in her recordings by her faithful electronic piano.
Her songs and lyrics are influenced by her joys, fears and experiences, not least from travelling extensively with her nomadic, restless family, living in Africa and the Middle East among other places. At one point, she impulsively abandoned her piano for several years, choosing instead to deepen her knowledge and experience and keep her thoughts and emerging songs in her head.
She writes songs to help her understand the complexities and direction of a life that can’t be easily understood, that sometimes defies definition or challenges reason.
