UNA MAGICA NOTTE PER IL PUBBLICO ACCORSO NELLA CHIESA DI SAN GIACOMO

Originaria di Erevan, capitale dell’Armenia, Lucineh Hovanissian è cantante, pianista e compositrice. Ieri sera, alle ore 21 nella Chiesa di San Giacomo, all'interno della rassegna "Staimi Atenz", la giovane inteprete armena ha proposto brani appartenenti al repertorio sacro e a quello tradizionale armeni: canzoni di una bellezza e di una semplicità sorprendenti, in un programma che ha incontrato tutta la gamma delle emozioni che una voce straordinaria, accompagnata da una gamma di flauti dai nomi affascinanti, suonati da Levon Tevanian, può sviluppare.

Un repertorio di rara intensità (i pezzi più antichi sono del V secolo), che ha origine in una terra di incontro tra Oriente e Occidente, dove la fede cristiana è stata spesso l’ultimo riparo per un popolo perseguitato da altri più potenti.

Singer, pianist, composer Lucineh Hovanissian creates an uninterrupted musical fabric, woven from the traditional and the avantgarde.
Whether performing solo or with folk band, she captivates the public by her charisma.

Semi-classical, semi-jazz arrangements along with the ethnic vocals! Armenian folk songs and traditional dance music in the contexte of the piano and the universal instrument –the voice!

Born in Yerevan (Armenia) in 1973, Lucineh Hovanissian has been performing on stage since the age of 9 as a soloist singer. She studied piano and composition at music school, and at the age of 11, began performing as a pianist-composer.
In 1994 she graduated from Yerevan State Medical University.
Lucineh completed her musical studies in the vocal department of the Jazz Art College and the Yerevan State Conservatory.

Both in 1987 and 1988 she won awards at the Aram Khatchaturian competitions among young composers of Armenia. In 2002 she became a UNESCO laureate in music (Bursary Aschberg). In 2004 she had the first place (category “Solo Canto”) at the VII International Festival MUSICWORLD in Fivizzano .

Lucineh was soloist in the Armenian National Radio Chamber Choir as well as correspondent for Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty, Armenian service.
She has performed in Armenia, Georgia, France, Canada, Italy and has shared the stage with La Bottine
Souriante, Lhasa, A Filetta, Maurice El Medioni.
