Bio
Gritty Melodic Ska/Punk with electrifying vocals, 3 part horn harmonies, and a rhythm section second to none, that is Luck Over Spent. Front man and Saxophonist Brian Venditelli leads this sextet based out of Providence, RI.
This band is wowing audiences with high energy shows full of great music and a little bit of comedy, and taking the scene one venue at a time. These ska-punksters are not your everyday kind of thing. Crafting meaningful lyrics around serious issues especially on tracks such as the college radio release "Outside Providence" or fan favorite "Down Another" have helped make them one of the upcoming bands to watch for on the New England scene. As the band says "if you play it, they will come," and come they have.
Luck Over Spent started out as a solo project in 2000 with Brian just playing guitar and writing/recording songs. After playing in other bands for a while where he met drummer Buddy Procopio he decided to return to his solo project. In 2004 he called up old friends Buddy & Brad Schumacher (Trombone) and coaxed them into playing some of his songs, and when they were finished they had added John Robillard (Guitar), Joel Beckman (Bass), and they capped it off adding Josh Kane (Trombone & Vocals) right before there first show together in January 2005.
The bands first album is due out in October of 2005 with the tentative title of "Wait till tuesday." This marks the first effort for the young band of 6 from Providence, RI and it features 11 heart pounding, foot tapping anthems that will make you forget your friends ever told you Ska was dead.
