"Death before Disco - album review"

“…This first album from Jeff Who? is flat out magnificent.” - Bladid (Icelandic newspaper)

"Death before Disco - album review"

“… All of the 10 songs on the album are catchy and fun. This album will put you in a happy mood.” - DV (Icelandic newspaper)

"Iceland Airwaves reviews"

“One of the joys of the Iceland Airwaves Festival, we are told, is walking into a random bar and getting your socks blown off by a band with no particular connection to the event itself. The city's just like that apparently. Obviously that's the sort of guff you take with a pinch of salt and don't actually expect to happen. So imagine our surprise of being drawn off the streets into the tiniest room above a bar (Bar 11 to be precise) and having our socks almost blown off by a really rather ace rock n roll band. Apparently they were called Jeff Who (we stand corrected, thank you), they have quite a predilection for tight, Strokes-esque rock, and a top notch fopp bass-player. Very good indeed.”

"Iceland Airwaves concert reviews"

“… Jeff Who? stepped in after the rass (Icelandic band) attack and saved the day… when they came on stage people crowded the front, lips started moving, the crowd started having fun. Word on the street was that Rass was the band to catch at Hafnarhusid last night, but Jeff Who? is the band I danced to.

Bio

Jeff Who? is a five piece rock band from Reykjavík, Iceland, known for their catchy tunes and classic good looks . Their sophisticated modern sound, influenced by ’70 rock and ’80 pop, paved their way into Iceland’s music scene. Death before disco, their debut album, was released in 2005 earning them a steady following and an opening slot for Franz Ferdinand.

In late 2008, the band released the self-titled album, Jeff Who?. With punchier beats and string arrangements from Anton Patzner, of Bright Eyes fame, their sound is bigger and edgier than before. The album got great reviews from the local press and was nominated as the album of the year at the 2009 Icelandic music awards.
