"Little Spoon EP"

"Lucy & La Mer’s newly released EP is a wonderful mix of whimsical vocals and distinctive instrumentation. This album has a very indie-folk vibe mixed with bubble-gum pop that is very agreeable and refreshing (these tunes can honestly brighten your mood). Lucy has a gentle and angelic soprano voice that is clear and enchanting; paired with her lovely vocals, are fun—and at times sassy lyrics, which I’m sure every girl can relate to. This EP is delightful and fresh, and if I had to sum this EP up in three words, it would honestly be: quaint, lovely, and quirky. Overall, this album reminds me of a chick-flick movie but in music form, and I think this EP really showcases this Lucy & La Mer’s sound as a fusion of indie-folk with a side of bubbly-pop." - Erinn Yung, KAMP Student Radio

Emerging artist Lucy & La Mer caught my eye with the veracious account of today's hook up generation in the duplicitous music video for new single "Just Friends." - Nicole Hanratty

Bio

Lucy & La Mer is an indie pop band from Los Angeles, California.

Their debut EP Little Spoon charted on College Radio in 2015, followed by a national tour. The Huffington Post called their most recent 2017 single ("Honey, Put Your Weapons Down") the "perfect indie pop anthem" and the song’s music video gained traction in OC Weekly.

Along with the charm of their storytelling lyrics,  Lucy & La Mer’s emphasis on crowd participation and fun stage banter have made them a favorite live band of Los Angelenos, and the playfulness of their songs has landed them various TV placements including Disney’s most recent Spring Resort commercial. The band has performed at LA Fashion Week, The Rose Bowl, CMJ Music Marathon, Echo Park Rising, KCRW's Chinatown Summer Nights, Jam in the Van, and BalconyTV, and recently performed for the Mayor of LA. Lead singer Lucy LaForge is a social justice activist, and works closely with women's rights organizations and LGBT activist groups. The band hosted the 2018 “LOVE IS GAY” benefit concert for LA’s LGBT Center and focuses their shows on building safe community spaces for fans.
