Bio

Lucy brings a unique style to the singer-songwriter label, as she artfully blends the delicate and feminine with a quiet, subtle strength long surpassing her years.  Inspired by musical greats such as Patty Griffin, Shelby Lynne, Jeffrey Foucault and Norah Jones, Lucy's music reflects a sophisticated sense of seasons weathered and stories truly lived.  While some of her tunes possess a blues-driven percussive element, others are soft, finger-picked-ballads of true emotion.  This clever combination of styles matched with her poignant, raw lyrics create the powerhouse of songwriting for which Lucy is known.

Given her first guitar at the age of 17, Lucy has been singing her story through song ever since. With no formal musical training, Lucy dove into learning songwriting and guitar techniques while living in San Francisco, and quickly took the leap to perform onstage at various open mics and songwriter showcases while traveling throughout the country.   Soon after, Lucy began collaborating with other musicians on bass, lead guitar, banjo and mandolin to create a fuller stage presence and dedicated her schedule to music professionally.  Now sharing her time with her other passion- metalsmithing and design at Votive Designs jewelry (www.votivedesigns.com), Lucy enjoys the balance of creative hands-on work, live performance and travel.

Recently relocated to the north Oregon coast from Madrid, NM, Lucy has played bars, cafes, and acoustic shows in cities such as San Francisco, CA, Anchorage, AK, Charleston, SC, and Asheville, NC.   Currently Lucy is focusing on a solo songwriter album, while maintaining her earlier-established projects while traveling, including Hot Honey, the southwest acclaimed female-trio formed in 2012.   This project brings sweet harmonies, soulful minor-key Appalachian sounds, and good-time banjo pickin' to the southwest music scene.   In addition to Hot Honey, Lucy also has a southern Americana/Blues project known as Swamp Sugar Radio, with musician friend and fellow songwriter Adrian Wesley.

In summer of 2013, Hot Honey was awarded three top awards in the local music scene by the Santa Fe Reporter's Annual "Best of Santa Fe; issue:

1st Place--Best New Band 2013
1st Place--Best Alt Country/Country Band 2013
