Bio

Lucy Martinez is a singer/songwriter from Boston Massachusetts. She is a winner of the 2005 American Idol Underground contest in the folk category for her song Mercy. Her music is emotive with dreamy melodies and poetic lyrics. Her voice is an instrument that delivers everything your heart desires. She can sing with a Sarah McLachlan sweetness to a power house Ann Wilson wail. She's fronted bands in New Hampshire, Boston and Maryland and then came back to Boston to stay as a solo performer and start a new band. Popular Baltimore area D.J. Damian Einstein frequently played her song, Knock Down the Wall, on his morning music show. Eve Zibart of the Washington Post wrote that Lucy's "voice has a crystalline ballad thrill". Lucy likes to dig down deep and get to the dark spaces. She has created some beautiful music that delivers small slices of life in all of its beauty, poignancy and imperfect goodness. Her songs envelop you and draw you in with their raw and honest sound. Good things are brewing here.

Lucy met her fellow band mates while recording her second CD. The Lucy Martinez Band was formed. They have played at Johnny D's in Somerville, Sally O'briens & Toad. The band brought out Lucy's Rock n Roll roots. Ducky Carlisle recorded and co-produced her second CD which is soon to be released.
