Yury

For most, 2 A.M. is a moment of reprieve. For some, it's a moment of inspiration. While others chase reality in dreams, Yury makes his dreams a reality.

Yury's early life was marked by constant motion. Born in Minsk, Belarus, his family would eventually relocate to Kiryat Shmona, Israel, Toronto, Canada, and Little Rock, Arkansas. After four moves across four countries, Yury arrived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a city he's proudly called home for over a decade.

A graduate of the infamous Taylor Allderdice high school, Yury's alma mater includes fellow Pittsburgh-based rappers Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. While in school, he sold vintage shoes and apparel and started learning the piano. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he began producing in his spare time. After making beats for a few years, Yury dipped into his shoe fund to kick-start his rap career.

Yury's diversity and individuality are constant presences in his work. His music incorporates conventional hip-hop motifs and contemporary electronic elements, placing him firmly in both the traditional and the modern. He finds inspiration in the flow of ScHoolboy Q and driving beats of Justice. Go through his playlist on any given day and you're likely to find A$AP Rocky, Drake, and Wiz sharing space with Daft Punk, The Bloody Beetroots, and Rusko.

Yury is currently making his mark on the Pittsburgh music scene. A born collaborator, he's worked closely with producers Big Jerm, DJ Black Diamond, and Sayez, and has opened for Chevy Woods.
