Bio

doing a 5 city tour in the UK last November we decided while in our crappy hotel room with no heating drunkenly eating a twenty box of chicken that we should put all our experiences of this and more down in a record. Our new album "Press play on Tape" is nearly finished with a launch date set for April. Below is the story previous:
At once subtle and thought provoking, Dublin based four-piece, Kudos, combine ethereal melodic rock, with a lyrical and vocal intensity, the like of which is simply not found among their contemporaries. Kudos initially formed over 10 years ago, when the band's mainstays - Luke Barnett [vocals/guitar] and Tadhg Fallon [Guitars] - began writing and recording together. Whilst combining their various influences and styles, the Barnett/Fallon partnership proved fruitful, and culminated in the development of a unique blend of guitar driven, hook-laden rock. This is the sound for which Kudos have become known.

Throughout the years, the band had been highly active on Dublin's live scene. Despite the various line-up changes which have inevitably taken place, the band finalised their members' roster in October 2003 with the addition of Ian Dorman [Drums] and Ciaran Kinsella [Bass]. After gaining widespread respect on the local circuit, Kudos decided to regroup, and following a prolonged period ensconced in Temple Lane Studios honing both their live sound and writing new material, the band recently re-emerged on the scene with a number of blistering live performances in Whelan's, The Temple Bar Music Centre, Eamonn Doran's, and Voodoo Lounge to name but a few.

Such has been the reaction of their audience to their new set of original songs, the band decided it was time to venture into the recording studio. In autumn of 2004, Kudos began the recording of a three track CD Single entitled "Born This Century" in Dublin's Apollo Studios. The result is a lush mixture of delicately layered melodies with full-on rock energy...a sound that whilst forceful, possesses the kind of popular accessibility rarely found in the often uncompromising sound of young bands.

Currently, Kudos are putting the finishing touches on their debut album "Press play on Tape". Keep your eyes and ears open, you’ll be seeing and hearing a lot more from Kudos in the near future.
