Bio

I grew up in the '90s teen pop phase, so that tends to be my "guilty pleasure" inspiration. I'm also incredibly inspired by synthpop legends Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Erasure, and Trevor Horn. I got started in songwriting and composition when I was in my early teens, trying to sort through the exclusion, embarrassment, and wide range of emotions that puberty and middle school have to offer. My adolescent pain is mostly the reason why I don't sound like every other singer/songwriter. I go for harsher, more dramatic stories. I do compose for piano, but my songs are primarily electronic-based. The cold, unforgiving sound of electronics and altered vocals reflects ideas I convey in my songs. I now draw influences from Imogen Heap, Depeche Mode, Vanessa Carlton, Daft Punk, and Rodney Jerkins. My songwriting style stems from Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos, No Doubt, Gotye, Charlie Midnight.
