"Stray Arrows EP"

While the cover art suggests Cut Copy-esque poptronica or angst-ridden angular garage, Luke Sabbadini's Stray Arrows is more concerned with plangent pop of a Peter Gabriel (SO period) variety, which is reassuring. Leading track Colours In Your Eyes is a delightfully bittersweet ballad; the rest is a little more Smiths-ish (particularly Loving Sweet), but the lot is the sort of acoustica you just wish Bernard Fanning et al's fans would give a try instead of returning time and again to their same old same olds. - Inpress Magazine - Clem Bastow

"Luke Sabbadini - Stray Arrows"

This young Melbourne artist is indeed someone to watch out for. This EP shows just how good a songwriter he is. Stray Arrows present 5 well written, intimate acoustic rock songs: I've had the opportunity to see this man live playing as a soloist and his style is energetic and comes across very comfortably behind his guitar. - Buzz Magazine - February 2007

Bio

In June 2006, Sabbadini was contacted by french record label "One More Time", which expressed an interest in his music. With only a handful of poorly home recorded samples, it was made clear that it was time to invest in a decent demo/EP recording. The next phase was to put a band together and not wanting to waste any time, Sabbadini organised a session bassist (Jarrod Ross), drummer (D) and lead guitarist Paolo Tommasini.

After three weeks of heavy rehearsal and a so called 'mock gig', the boys arrived at Studio 52 (A well known recording studio in Melbourne recommended by Jack Strom). Engineered by Jess Warnock and Trevor Carter, the EP took approximately six recording sessions to complete. The name "Stray Arrows" was taken from a line in a song Sabbadini had written called "Fallen Down". Funnily enough that song didn't make the cut but the name stayed as it encaptured the true essence and subject matter of the EP.

On December 7th, he launched his EP at the esteemed Evelyn Hotel. The lineup included Durbeyfield and Little Red and was dubbed by some as "a lineup worthy of folklore". In 2007 Sabbadini will continue to promote his music throughout Australia's live venues.
