Bio

The last time someone used another artist to describe my music, they said, "If you like Mumford and Sons you'll like Luke Thomson". I hated that. Most would take it as a compliment to be compared to such a well respected, major success like Mumford, but I just don't relate to that band. I don't write epic ballads backed by a wall of sound. I write songs that romanticize small victories and defeats. Songs about late nights of frustration trying to stay in love with a woman - or the rare occasion of salvation found in a radio show that's only on at dawn. Trying to catch beautiful moments in a song is what keeps me happy, and trying to knock an audience on its ass is what get's me off.

My band is a fierce powerhouse who is not to be messed with. The man on the upright bass plays like he's 8 feet tall. I stole my mandolin player from a Juno award winning blues guitarist, and is my oldest friend in the world. My drummer on the makeshift kit is a Nebraska bred, son of a railroad man, who's as powerful and steady as a Union Pacific freight, and to top it all off, Alyssa Jean is one of the most beautiful women you'll ever see with a voice to match. They're my family and I love them dearly.

I'm a young man from Canada who stomps the hell out of the stage and beats the shit out his guitar. I use my voice to demand attention and my smile to make girls blush. I cuss like Doug Stanhope and dance like Muhammad Ali. My days of sluggin' milk and having a home are over. It's time to hit the road.
