Bio
From the dingy basement of his parents house on Lake Huron, Liam Sanagan spent his summer in a makeshift studio where he produced his first collection of solo songs, a four track EP. Since the dissolving of his band Paper Shaker in 2006, he has spent his time rediscovering music, experimenting heavily with recording and new technologies for producing music. Adopting his nickname ‘LUM’ in an attempt to separate himself from the dozens of singer-songwriters of his new hometown of Guelph, Ontario, he began both producing hip-hop and electro inspired music and remixes, while also committing himself to arranging songs on piano and guitar, inspired by some of his song-writing heroes, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Eventually, between playing acoustic shows and DJing all night parties, the two musical sensibilities collided. On-stage, LUM rocks an acoustic guitar backed by pounding beats, going at times from disco-house inspired giddiness to intimate folk moments.
