LUMIA hail from all four corners of perth, western australia. The intense guitar work of Jason Millar is the backdrop to Danah Mitchell's uplifting melodies and earthy voice, capped off by the solid bottom end of Mark Bowering on bass. LUMIA combine to create a textured soundscape worthy of the big screen. The band blends styles and crosses genres without loosing focus and the sound sits somewhere between massive attack, radiohead, U2 and maybe even a splash of pink floyd.

LUMIA is the destination for a musical partnership that started it's journey in 2001 with what was to be a one-off collaboration known as Flavoured Sounds. Since then, Jason and Danah have travelled both together and seperately on their musical journies, but the strong musical connection has evolved and developed to become LUMIA. With the arrival of Bristol raised bass player Mark Bowering in late 2008 Danah and Jason could finally step out of the studio and on to the stage. Since then the focus has not only been on performance and songwriting, but also on creating the defining sound of LUMIA: a stunning blend of male and female, light and dark, black and white and full colour with widescreen ambitions.
