Feeling a bit camera shy

Luminary was formed in the autumn of 2003. They began writing as a trio when Nash, Putnam, and Strevell expressed their desire to begin writing some refreshing metal songs. It wasn't long before they had arranged a few original songs and needed a vocalist and bassist to join the line up. They discovered Hegy by hearing some of the backing vocals he had done on previous recordings with local metal band Augmentum. They quickly recruited Hegy and began writing what would become the building blocks of the Luminary sound. As they put the final touches on "To The Sky" they knew they had found the sound they were looking for. They then were able to find Rob Kletsky as their bassist and the lineup was complete. The big chords and harmonized melodies come from the huge influence of European metal giants such as In Flames, Soilwork, At The Gates, etc. Luminary combines the best of European melodic death and American thrash for a fresh take on melodic metal. Most of Luminary is under the age of 20 and command a wealth of music theory and compostition knowledge, there is no limit to the potential these young musicians posess. In the wake of success of such American bands as Trivium, Shadows Fall, and Still Remains, Luminary will prove to be another vital piece of the American metal scene.
