Luminesce

Luminesce is a progressive rock group from Jacksonville, Florida founded in 2009. Citing influences from prog giants Rush and combining them with modern sounds from Coheed and Cambria, Dream Theater and Paramore, Luminesce achieves a sound that is catchy, accessible and still retains the display of musical intricacies that progressive music is known for.
Luminesce began as a project between guitarist Matt Stoops and drummer Patrick Garren. After realizing their immediate chemistry, they began writing and seeking a vocalist; through this they found singer Emily Johnson. Shortly afterward bassist Ricky Moore and guitarist Cory Stewart joined to complete their lineup. With all of Luminesce’s members having been involved in musical projects from Jacksonville, Nashville, to New York, the quintet is no stranger to the music scene across the east coast.
After a few short months of writing, they released their first self-produced self-titled EP in early 2010. The band is excited to continue moving forward and is ready to make their mark on the world of progressive music.
