Luminico integrates musical works in a continuous discourse that evolves according to its visual, sonic, and literary context. Written compositions along with improvisation, plus visual and aural reactions to what is going on in real time plays an essential role in this original project.
All programs combine selected compositions, original mixes, improvisations, poetry and visuals created especially for every occasion.
The show is produced in Mexico and is conceived as a multicultural artistic experience. It features the music of Alejandro Escuer and Rodrigo Sigal, plus music by other composers such as Alejandro Viñao, Steve Reich, Gabriela Ortiz, Ganesh Anandan among others.

LUMINICO is a Mexican interdisciplinary project that combines new audio technologies with live performance of wind instruments and percussion.
We are devoted to producing show performances as if they were visual sound tracks of an imaginary abstract movie on a variety of subject matters such as social and philosophical issues and concerns by means of visually structured episodes and linked segments.
Our performances are highly unique and original: Escuer, Sigal and García reach the spectator’s visual and audible sensitivity by projecting powerful sounds and images that connect directly to the audience’s perception in such a way that the show becomes a memorable experience.
Aesthetically, LUMINICO attempts to attain the impossible: It integrates and mixes apparently irreconcilable genres of music such as classical music, contemporary Mexican music, world music, pop, electronic music, minimalism, avant-garde, and medieval among other kind of musical styles from diverse periods and regions worldwide.
The idea is to promote a comprehensive philosophical vision that can push society towards meaningful progressive appreciation of cultural diversity, opening the eyes and ears to tolerance and mutual understanding.
This is how we see the future, and this is why the music is intertwined by emotional links that already coexist in Luminico’s space and musical time.
The cutting-edge new technologies used in audio and video, are a backdrop for LUMINICO founders Alejandro Escuer, Rodrigo Sigal, José Luis García Nava and for the internationally renowned guest performers’ high quality and virtuoso live performances.
LUMINICO is a driving force in innovation, creating new proposals redefining how music can be staged either by using new audio technologies, or by redefining the relationship between visual technologies and musical content.
