"Premiere: Lunacre - 'Engine'"

Lunacre split their time between Cambridge and London, the countryside and the city.
A new but ambitious project, the group fuse a lust for breaking electronics to a need to hone in on classic songcraft.
Somewhere between those two poles, Lunacre emerge. Compared to Vondelpark and Mount Kimbie, there's also a sense of the Bristol sound in here; the intensity of those early Portishead records, for example.
New EP 'Engine' is out this week, with a release show party packing fans into London venue the Sebright Arms. Clash is able to air title track 'Engine', and it's a curiously slowburning beast.
The band's Ben explains: “The song is about motives and discovery. Generally speaking, I wanted to evoke the feeling of redefining something in your mind after having taken it for granted for a long time. It was written in quite vague terms and I hope people can relate to the ideas as well as find their own meaning in it.”

"Lunacre take the worst road-trip ever in their video for 'Shit Picasso' [405 Premiere]"

British electronic band, Lunacre are on an animated road trip from hell on their video for new single 'Shit Picasso.'

British electronic band, Lunacre are on an animated road trip from hell on their video for new dark and atmospheric single 'Shit Picasso,' which directly realizes the lyrics for the experimental electronic song. While on their way to Capital City, the five piece band, comprised of Ben de Vries, Ben Goodall, Jacob Harrison, JP Thwaites and Sam Johnstone, hit a few road blocks and find themselves somewhere between Pleasantville and the Evil Woods. While on a journey towards learning about peace, the inevitability that life will have ups and downs makes itself clear. The good news is that things are to be continued.

"The music video is cartoon adventure, about the five of us going on a journey and having a load of unfortunate things happen to us along the way. The story was written by trying to cram as many cartoon/movie tropes into 5 minutes as we could. The video expresses the original themes of the verses in quite an abstract way; it's essentially a crudely animated Lunacre fable," vocalist Ben says. - The 405
