Luna Dementia

Forged from the Central Florida metal scene, Luna Dementia yields a venomous brand of melodic metal which is one part thrash, one part old-school shred, one part power-progressive and one-part metal core. Luna caresses the ear one moment and runs it over like a freight train the next. In 2004, band founder1s Jeff Rankin and Anthony Sica assembled a top-notch six-piece unit bent on conquering the progressive genre. After several SRO gigs supporting the likes of International talent and legend, Rob Rock...and a notable inclusion of their first single 3Blackened Mind2 on The Prog-Power USA V Compilation CD, the steam ran out of Luna1s engine due to band member conflict. Undeterred, Anthony & Jeff started writing more material and searched for a solid rhythm section to put Luna back on track. Enter Toby Caskey and Joel Husebo. Toby is a hard hitter well versed in everything from hardcore to grind core to punk and metal and brings a much-needed set of brass balls to the metal that is Luna D. As a member of bands: Divided We Stand, Gardy Loo, Code 13, and 4 Down, Toby has made a name for himself touring throughout the southeast and Europe. Toby sites Buddy Rich,Gene Krupa, Bill Ward, Neil Peart, Carmine Appice and Dave Lombardo...However Heineken and Corona can also be attributed to Toby's uncanny drum prowess. Joel, an Ohio transplant appears green in appearance however, his skills are unequaled as his Fender Precision speaks volumes and leaves spectators in awe. Joel was schooled in dynamics by none other than Zappa's bassman himself the legendary Jeff Berlin. A veteran of the bands Burnin' Smyrnans and partner in rhythm section crime with drummer Toby in 4 Down Joel brings a bit of young new blood with attitude to Luna Dementia. Add these dynamos to Jeff Rankin who has toured all over the world and grew up listening to the tunes of Kiss and the Steve Miller Band before discovering the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci (Dream Theater), George Lynch, Reb Beach,Doug Aldrich, and many more and Anthony Sica who has rung up 17 years as a pioneer of the Florida metal scene, fronting bands such as Lash, Trinity,Jersey Blue and the legendary Sweatbox who played alongside the likes of Sevendust, The Bullet Boys, Molly Hatchet, Roxx Gang, Creed and Matchbox Twenty...and you have Luna Dementia...the wildest craziest, truest metal you1ll ever hear. Intricate percussion, pounding bass lines, melodic yet guttural hook-laden vocals and guitar fretwork that will have you proclaiming that shred is not dead. There’s a new moon on the rise...and once it gets into your musical consciousness it will spread...like a disease...like the madness that it is.

Luna is working on their full length CD while playing all over Central Florida. They have been featured on WHOG 95.7Fm1s Metal Till Midnight Program and “The Scene.” In addition, their recording of A.D.D is slated to be included on Pork TV a Jackass-like pay-per-view movie.
