"Take It Home: Lungs They Burn at the Larimer Lounge"

The Larimer Lounge was pretty quiet at 7:30pm on Wednesday March 25, 2009 when The Knew, The Fling, Drop City, The Outfit, and Lungs They Burn were set to play.
...
Opening the show with their experimental blues style, the two-man band played with everything they had. With an array of instruments – a saxophone, a guitar, and drums – and a voice that demands attention, Isaac and Sean played one of the most interesting sets I have seen from a local band.

Now as if a saxophone couldn’t get any better, they used their wah pedal to expose a different side of it. I had never seen that before and it was something I had never thought of. They also used a loop track to layer their songs further than just two people on stage.

I strongly suggest checking out this experimental band from Greeley, Colorado because you will not be disappointed. Their music is ever-changing and it gives you something new to listen to. - Katie Brennan of www.examiner.com

Bio

Lungs They Burn rose out of the proverbial ashes of now defunct Colorado bands to create a unique sound that even your mom will like. Influenced by a wide variety of artists including Sigur Ros, The Knife, Damien Rice, The Black Keys, We Are Scientists, and Portishead, Sean, Pat, and Isaac knew from day one they had a good thing brewing. Practicing late into the musty Greeley night, Lungs They Burn set out to prove that you don't need 20 minute guitar solos or 3 hour set lists to be an experimental group. Through high energy live shows that often include covers of artists ranging from Justin Timberlake to AC/DC to Martin Sexton, Lungs They Burn has been gaining steady recognition throughout Colorado's local scene.
